My Chart Title
Ajaloun 681 is a residential building of a
property number 681, located in Ajaltoun,
Lebanon.

We obtained all the legal and necessary

documents from Dr. Antonio Rizkallah, but
we were not able to get them from the Introduction
authorities due to many problems all over
Lebanon.

We took all what we were taught in the

building legislation course into
consideration.
Preliminary design

From the easement and planning map:

Total land area = 1010 square meters
Superficial exploitation = 30%
Total exploitation = 75%
Number of floors = 3
Total height = 12.5 m
Set back limit = 4.5 m

building is residential
Consisting of:
one basement (parking),
a ground floor, 2 upper floors
and a roof (height above the
road is 12.4 m).

Materials

 Concrete: Steel:

In order to calculate the loads, we had to obtain the slab thickness.
We have one-way ribbed slab, According to ACI table 9.3.1.1, we had for the longest one-end continuous slab span
For our design we took and we will check it later.

columns :
We divide the area of the entire floor into tributary areas for each
column , we add each column’s load downwards from the roof to
the basement.

Footing design::
An isolated footing is one of
the most regularly used forms
of foundation when single-
columns are located at a
considerable distance. We
developed an isolated footing
in our project to avoid
exceeding its bearing capacity,
ensure safety from overturn or
sliding, and prevent the earth
from settling. For a chosen
footing of L=140 cm and B=125
cm. after calculations a
thickness of 50 cm will be
provided.

Footing design.
Stairs design:
The type of stairs that we will
design is a double flight stair with
a landing 62 cm wide.
Rise =15 cm, run=30 cm ℎ =
25𝑐𝑚.

Stais design.
Tie beams:

We provided tie beams

between the footings
following the templates, to
reduce the differential
settlement and make the
whole structure more stiff and
stable.

We provided plans for many specifications.

Bill of Quantity:
Whether or whether a firm will survive is determined by the performance of commercial or business management. The
most appealing and crucial phrase for stakeholders and every construction professional when it comes to construction
management is bill of quantities. Stakeholders include the project sponsor, project manager, project team, support
workers, clients, users, and suppliers, as well as individuals who are involved in each task or activity in the project. A bill of
quantity is a schedule that outlines all of the materials that will be utilized in a construction project, as well as their
quantities, details, and prices. It is important to note that while evaluating the entire cost of a project, all costs (indirect
and direct) must be taken into account.

Concrete volume:
Steel weight :

The bill of quantity of steel was based on the following weights

presented in the table below.

BOQ for steel.

Steel percentage.
BOQ SUMMARY:
Conclusion:
To summarize, civil engineering is a smart and serious field that is continually evolving, mistakes can be fatal.
As a result, every engineer must be competent and cautious in order to strike a balance between the economic and
safety aspects in order to get the greatest possible design.
We finished this course carrying big amount of information.
• The size of lines is important.
• Cold water to the right, hot water to the left.
• The size of each cartouche must be as a printing paper.
• Edge beams carry less loads than internal beams.
• Make a block foe axis is very helpful.

And more and more is learnt from Dr. Antonio. Dearest Dr. you treated us as engineers and supplied us with what
takes to be in the business domain. We promise your efforts will never be vanished
Thank you!
