The Different Parts of a

Desktop Computer
Have you seen a Computer before?
If you did, draw what a computer looks like.
ACTIVITY
 BL/LE/AE: Name each part of the Computer
presented in the picture.

 LJHS/AJHS: Study these parts of the computer,

create a scene where these parts are used.

Present your work in front of the class.

BL/LE/AE: Name each part of the Computer presented in the
picture.
 How did you came up with your work?

 Identify the parts that you are familiar with as

long as your own description as to how these
parts work.
Parts of Computer

 INPUT: Keyboard, mouse, drives

 PROCESSOR: CPU, processor, modem
 STORAGE: Hard Disk, CD ROM or Floppy
Disk/USB
 OUTPUT: Monitor, speaker, printer
In your own opinion, why do
you think they are grouped as
such?
INPUT
 Input refers to the parts through which information is received by
the computer. When you input data or information, it is encoded
(translated) into something that a computer can “understand”.
PROCESSOR

 Processing something means that you do something about the data or

information that you receive.
 The processor of a computer is the brain of the computer. It computes and
organizes data. It “thinks” for the computer since this is where commands
are carried out. When you lend your book to a friend to read, he/she will use
a processor (her brain) to read and understand that book.
 Computer processors can process data from milliseconds (one thousandth of
a second) to microseconds (one millionth of a second).
STORAGE
 The storage parts of a computer serve as the computer’s memory
 After reading, he/she has to remember what he/she has read.
He/she stores the processed data or information in her memory to
use later on.
OUTPUT

 An output device is any peripheral that receives data from a

computer, usually for display, projection, or physical reproduction.
 For example, the image shows an inkjet printer, an output device
that make a hard copy of anything shown on the monitor. Monitors
and printers are two of the most commonly used output devices used
with a computer.
What are the different parts of
Computer according to
groupings?
Application Activity
 BL/LE: Find items around you that can be used in relation to
the major parts of the computer
 AE: Draw a scene where the four major groupings of the
computer are used
 LJHS: Present through a song, the major groupings of the
parts of the computer
 AJHS: Present each groupings of the parts of the computer
like introducing a new friend to another
Let me see my value!!!!
 In this time of pandemic, how important is
knowing how to use the different parts of a
desktop computer?
 How important is computer in education? In
applying a job?
 How important is computer as a consumer? As
an entrepreneur?
How much have you learned?
 BL/LE: Group the following parts of the computer to its major
groupings
Keyboard, mouse, printer, monitor, CPU, processor, USB, CD-
ROM, Drive, Hard Drive
 AE: Enumerate the major parts of the computer and describe what
each major group does
 LJHS: Write a paragraph about the importance of keeping the parts
of the computer together
 AJHS: Write an essay as to the importance of humans in the
operations of computer.
Assignment
 Look up on the video about the different
parts of the computer and note how they are
grouped together.
