 S-Chem Permit system will be used in this areas.

Under Construction control :-

Blinding ?
Device which are installed between flanges in a pipeline to
prevent the passage of any gas, steam, liquid, free flowing
solids etc. to any equipment on which work is being
performed
 TAB BLIND
They shall have tabs and the size/class
(rating) will be
stamped on the tab.

 SPECTACLE BLIND
A device installed permanently between a pair of flanges .

They are designed to withstand the full operating pressure


of a line.

 SLIP BLIND
Slip blinds are NOT designed to with-
stand the full operating Pressure.

SPACER
 A device installed between flanges which when
removed provides a gap.

 Blind may be inserted as required .

 Spacer is designed to permit free flow through


the pipeline.

 3/8 inch hole drilled on the tab for spacer.

tagged, and
recorded,

Do’s & Dont’s

 Follow the S-Chem Permit System.


 All work can only be carried out under S-Chem Supervison
& Contractors.
 Never remove/tamper the blinds/casing without S-Chem
authorization
 Orange colored blinds/flanges indicates live lines and
should not be worked on without prior communication and
permission from S-Chem.
 Disseminate this information to your work force
through tool box talks.
