What is the source of
renewable energy?

Jatropha seed as biodiesel

02
Why do you choose it ?
we chose "jatropha fruit" as our topic because the increasing need for fuel is increasing as the
human population increases, while on the other hand the production of "jatropha fruit" is
quite high but its utilization is very minimal. here we want to explain that "jatropha fruit" can
be used as an ingredient to produce renewable energy, especially in biodiesel.
How can it contribute to the
energy security ?

"Jatropha fruit" contributes as an alternative energy source

by utilizing the oil content of the fruit. "jatropha fruit"
contains vegetable oil by 35-45%. The oil is processed into
biodiesel oil (a substitute for diesel) and fuel oil (a substitute
for kerosene). biodiesel from castor fruit is also a new
innovation, in order to reduce the use of fossil energy which
is more environmentally friendly and has an economical
price.
04
How is the process to convert it to energy ?
1. jatropha seeds are extracted or pressed to produce an essence in the form of oil
2. filtering -> filtered oil aims to remove sludge in the extraction results
3. purification -> after that, purification is carried out using esterification and
transesterification and liquid fuel is produced in the form of biodiesel.
