Living organisms are classified into groups

Carl Linnaeus was the founding father of taxonomy who grouped


living organisms according to the similiarity and differences.

Living organisms can be classified into 2 big groups (before 5


kingdoms). Those are plants and animals.

All organisms that have green leaves and can photosynthesise as


plants.

Organisms that can move around and eat other organisms as food are
animals.
1. Mosses
 Mosses are very small plants.
 Most of them live in damp and
shady places
 They do not produce flowers.
 They produce spores for
reproduction
 They have thin leaves.
2. Ferns
 Ferns also like to grow in shady
places, but they are much bigger
than mosses.
 Ferns have leaves called fronds.
 They do not produce flowers.
 They produce spores for
reproduction.
3. Conifers
 Most conifers grow into large trees.
 They often have tough and narrow
leaves called needles.
 They do not have proper flowers.
 They produce seeds for
reproduction.
 The seeds are produce inside
cones.
4. Flowering
plants  These plants reproduce using seeds
that are produced inside flowers.
 They have proper flowers.
 They produce seeds for
reproduction.
