Battery Eliminator

Circuit (BEC)

A battery eliminator circuit (BEC) is an electronic circuit designed to deliver

electrical power to other circuitry without the need for multiple batteries
A battery eliminator circuit is a voltage regulator. It is designed to drop a big voltage down to a smaller voltage. It allows you to run your flight controller, drone
motor ,GPS module,ESC and other accessories from your main battery without using a separate lower voltage one.

Types of BEC:-
1. Linear BEC
2.switching BEC
3. Universal BEC

Advantages of BEC:-
Portability
1.
Efficient
2. use of power
Reduces
3. overall battery design cost
Saving of power
4.
No need of multiple batteries
5.

The main disadvantage of BEC is it increases the circuit complexity and cost of the circuit.
Battery Management
System (BMS)

Generally, a Battery Management System is an analogue or digital electronic hardware device

complemented with specific software, that is added to a battery system.
The primary function of a BMS is to fulfil safety requirements and the more efficient usage of battery cells
and increases the lifetime of battery cells.
Benefits of using BMS
1.Ensure reliable battery operations.
2.Continuous battery health monitoring to
avoid explosion
3.Increases the life span of the battery
4.Indicates battery level

A Battery Management System AKA BMS

monitors and regulates internal operational
parameters, i.e. temperature, voltage and current
during charging and discharging of the battery.
building block of BMS:-

1. Cut-off FETs
2. Fuel Gauge Monitor
3. Cell Voltage Sensors
4. Temperature Monitoring
