The disadvantages of child labor

When there are more workers willing to
work at a given wage than there are jobs,

those children compete for (unskilled
work).
The policy of the government is to ban employment
of children below the age of fourteen years in
W H AT A R E T H E factories, mines and hazardous employment and to
RIGHTS OF CHILD regulate the working conditions of children in other
LABOUR? employment. The Child Labour (Prohibition and
Regulation) Act, 1986 seeks to achieve this basic
objective.
