INTRODUCTION.

 Mian muhammad munshi a philanthropist got this hospital


constructed on his land measuring 19 kanals at an estimated cost of
Rs.6 crore. He later handed over complete control of this institution
to government of punjab in 4th november 1986.Since then the health
department government of punjab has been running this hospital as
a 125 beded district headquarter level hospital.Over the years the
bed strength risen to 150 with the addition of new department.
Recently establishment of a modern and specialized trauma centre
of accident and emergency cases is also being proposed.
HISTORY

The founder of this hospital built this hospital in a


poor locality for the benefit of the downtrodden
section of the society comprising mostly labor
class in northren lahore e.g Sanda,Sanat
nagar,Islam pura, Data nagar,Data bilal gunj,ravi
town and other localities situated on both sides
of bund road. This hospital is a district
headquarter level institution which is built on
high way and on ring road, with heavy trafic load.
It is a very important health care facility which is
benefiting more than 1.5 million population.
