keep in mind that
these physical
constants are
accepted values
that are compared
with the
experimental
value
EXPERIMENTAL VALUE AND ACCEPTED VALUE

• A student carried out an experiment to find the density of

a grain of rice. The experimental value calculated was 1.2
g/ml. The accepted value was1.452 g/ml . Justification of
the calculated value is subject to the method employed and
the treatment the measurements of the quantities.
HOW WOULD YOU DETERMINE THE DENSITY
OF A GRAIN OF RICE?
TO GET FAMILIARIZED WITH THE
EXPERIMENT

• research the topic

• relate this to real life
• ask questions
• write your own notes

COMMON ERRORS FOUND IN LAB REPORTS
• Conclusion is not being answered.
• Reflection : some students only state what they learned in the experiment and the
application of the concept is not applied to real life. A deeper analysis of the data
should be stated in the reflection.

• Discussion : students state observations, and part of the procedures. The discussion
does not follow a flow of the thoughts.
BEST WISHES FROM YOUR INSTRUCTOR
IN 2022

• the world took seven days to be created

• take time to learn
• persevere
• learn from errors
• Learn, learn, learn be ready for the coming of our Lord Jesus.
LAB ON PRESSURE
1. convert cm² to m² (10000 cm²=1m²)
2. Use your mass in kg to convert to weight using w= m
9.81m/s²
3. Use the equation P= F/A to calculate the pressure in
Pa=Nm¯²
4. Compare this pressure with a classmate.
5. Write the lab discussion.
