Biology
• Plants make food by the process of photosynthesis.
• They convert energy from sunlight into sugars and
oxygen.
• Equation of photosynthesis: 6CO2 +
6H2O → C6H12O6 + 6O2
• As you can see carbon dioxide and water are used to
produce glucose(sugar) and oxygen.

 CHEMISTRY
• Energy can be used to break and create new bonds between atoms.
• Heating up atoms will give them more kinetic energy, and weaken their forces of
attraction between particles.
• Cooling down atoms will lower their kinetic energy, and strengthen the forces of
attraction between particles.
• This can be used to change a solid to a liquid or a gas and vice versa:

• The energy in an object due to it’s motion is called kinetic energy.
• This determines how fast an object moves.
• It is effected by the mass and velocity of that object.
• Equation for kinetic energy:

• Velocity of an object has the greatest effect on it’s

kinetic energy.
