SUB
STRUCTURE
• Auger cast piling is used.
• Drilling commences for the piles.
Some 30ft, 65ft Deep.
• The piles are filled with concrete and
covered with a pile cap.
• Contractor: Malcom
SUPER
STRUCTURE
• Rebars are placed for vertical
structures and shear walls etc.
• Formwork is applied next
• Casting is then done.
SUPER
STRUCTURE
• The cores are then assembled with
rebar and formwork is placed on
them.
• The cores are 8 in total and they
are stair and elevator towers.
• They act as the backbone of the
stadium
• They are also needed to start
erection of steel which will
be tied to it.
• Over a 100,000 cubic yards of
concrete is used in Allegiant
Stadium
SUPER
STRUCTURE
• Suspended floor plan is next
• Scaffolding is used for creating
pan and joist deck. It holds the
form and rebars for the floor.
• It is flexible to use and was used
for the first 2 floors instead of
steel.
• It is then casted and smoothened
with a range and a trowel pan.
• Contractor : Gateway
concrete forming.
SUPER
STRUCTURE
• There are 2 individual parts of the
stadium which are : the bowl and
the vessel.
• Spherical bearings are used to
connect the vessel to the steel roof
canopy truss modules.
• In placing the steel canopy, staged
construction is used to ensure that
the cable net and the curtain wall
are supported.
• The stadiums 8 cores are also used
to create the outer shell for the
vessel.
ROOF
A cable net structure was used and covered with a
semi translucent ETFE domed roof.

CABLE NET STRUCTURE

It is a 300 ton cable net grid comprising of
two layers of cables in tension with a strut
separating them. Each cable strand is
tensioned to even the load.

ETFE
This is a thin layer of plastic used like a pillow
cushion. It is light in weight and takes little
structure to hold it up.

• They also have 1 first aid station on
the 100 and 300 level.

Safety during construction.

“Mortenson-McCarthy made worker safety a
priority throughout construction and in doing
so achieved a remarkable safety record with a
total recordable incident rate of 0.98, which is
less than one-third the national average,”
SIGNS AND ALARMS
These are placed on site to inform.
This may be in form of pictures and
sounds.
ZERO INJURY PPE WEAR
OBJECTIVE This includes the site jackets,
boots, helmets, hand gloves,

CONSTRUCTION is done by every staff to increase
productivity and reduce injuries.

MEETINGS
A variety of meetings are held to
communicate information properly and
avoid any form of accident.
SUSTAINABILITY
• 11,000 pounds of food scraps are
collected per large stadium event,
diverted away from landfills, and
turned into livestock feed for a local
farm.

• The stadium is committed to reducing

water usage in various ways including
its touchless water fixtures throughout
the venue as well as using
groundwater dewatering stations
which redistribute water collected
from the exterior of the stadium and
send to planter beds, subsidizing
irrigation.
SUSTAINABILITY
• The Allegiant Stadium makes use of
recyclable aluminum cups.

• Allegiant Stadium is the first stadium

in the U.S. to divert cigarette waste
and convert it into energy.

• The stadium practices Green

Purchasing including an office
rechargeable battery program that
mitigates the need for single-use
batteries, thus reducing hazardous
waste as well as the purchase of
cleaning products in bulk to reduce
single-use plastics, when possible.
SUSTAINABILITY
• There are 700 trash and
recycling receptacles.
• 32 tons of trash is generated at
each event on average.
• 21 tons of this is recycled.

• The receptacles are connected to a drop

chute that takes the rash to a big whale
bin and workers will sort and compile
the trash for disposal and recycling.

• The drop chute is also automatically

cleaned every event through a trash
chute cleaning system.
INNOVATIONS
CASH TO CARD KIOSKS
Allegiant stadium is a cashless venue. Guest
may convert their cash to debit cards using
these kiosks and this will suffice for any
purchasing done.

ordering and delivery of food from and to your
seat.
INNOVATIONS
RETRACTABLE FIELD
• The mobile field rolls on 13 rails with 76
electric motors through an opening 14 feet
high and 240 feet wide.
• The stadium crew brings the motorized field
into the stadium 48 hours before the game.

WIFI
• The stadium makes use a 5ghz frequency
• They have a lot of data centers around the
stadium.
• They use an overhead array system
• The Allegiant stadium has been provided 227
miles of fiber-optic cables and 1,700 Wi-Fi
access points
LEARNING POINTS
F I R S T A I D L O C AT I O N S
There are three (3) Intermountain
Healthcare First Aid locations at
Allegiant Stadium. They are
located at sections 120, 142, and
332. This is something that will
be useful in the Ark Legacy
Project because of the need for
first aid when the need arises.
