 ● Be a helper to your husband.
Genesis Genesis tells us that God realized it
wasn’t good for man to be alone, and
2:18 that He decided to make a “helper
suitable for him” (Gen. 2:18)

 ● Respect your husband In Ephesians
5:33, Paul says,’’ the wife must respect
her husband.” When you respect your
Ephesians husband you reverence him, notice him,

5:33 regard him, honor him, prefer him, and

esteem him. It means valuing his
opinion, admiring his wisdom and
character, appreciating his commitment
to you, and considering his needs and
values.

 ● Love your husband. Titus 2:4 calls for
wives “to love their husbands.” A good
description of the kind of love your

Titus 2:4 husband needs is “unconditional

acceptance.” In other words, accept your
husband just as he is—an imperfect
person. Love also means being
committed to a mutually fulfilling sexual
relationship.

 ● Submit to the leadership of your
husband. Wives, be subject to your own
Ephesians husbands, as to the Lord. For the
husband is the head of the wife, as
5:22-30 Christ also is the head of the church, He
Himself being the Savior of the body.
But as the church is subject to Christ, so
also the wives ought to be to their
husbands in everything.

 ● To Imitate Christ in Her Marriage - 2
Corinthians 3:3 reminds us, “Your very

by just looking at you. Christ Himself
3:3 wrote it not with ink, but with God’s
living Spirit; not chiseled into stone, but
carved into human lives and we publish
it.” A Christian wife imitates Christ in
their daily life.

 ● To Be Clothed in Strength and Dignity
Being a woman of strength and dignity

Proverbs is an important responsibility of a

Christian wife. Pride and self-respect are

31 important qualities and it’s important

that this is reflected in our marriages.
Proverbs 31 shares that a biblical wife is
clothed in strength and dignity.

 ● To Care For Her Family A Christian
wife is responsible for caring for her
family. Proverbs 31 makes it clear that
Proverbs the home is the woman’s primary areas
of influence and responsibility. Her
31 family is well cared for and she is sure to
put them first. This is not always easy,
especially with shared responsibilities
and work outside of the home.

 ● To Make Sure Christ is a Foundation  A good
Christian wife turns to God’s Word for insight
and tunes into God’s plan for marriage. The

Matthew Bible tells us, “So they are no longer two but
one. Therefore what God has joined together, let

19:6 man not separate” (Matthew 19:6). In order to

have a successful marriage, we must be focused
on Jesus. A Christian makes sure Christ is at the
head of the marriage.

 1. Provide for Her – Ephesians 5:27-
Ephesians 5:27- 28 tells us that husbands are to
28 “nourish” or literally provide for the
physical needs of their wife as they
do their own bodies.

 2. Protect Her- Ephesians 5:27-
Ephesians 28 tells us that husbands are to
5:27-28 “cherish” their wives.

 3. Discipline Her – Ephesians 5:25-
Ephesians 27 tells husbands that they are called
5:25-27 to wash their wives’ spiritual spots
and wrinkles with the Word of God
just as Christ does his Church.

 4. Teach Her– In 1 Corinthians
1 Corinthians 14:35 we read that women are to
14:35 be taught in spiritual matters by
their husbands in their home.

 5. Rule Over Her – In 1 Timothy
1 Timothy 3:4 we are told that men need to

of compassion and grace. We as

the lives of our wives.

plenteous in mercy and slow to
103:8 anger.

 8. Know Her – In I Peter 3:7 we

with their wives according to
3:7 knowledge and if we don’t God
will not hear our prayers as
husbands.

 9. Honor Her – In I Peter 3:7 we
read that husbands are to honor their
I Peter 3 & wives and in Ephesians 6:2 we read
that children are to honor their
Ephesians 6:2
mother. Do you show proper honor
to your wife? Do you make your
children honor your wife as their
mother?

 10. Praise Her – In Proverbs
31:28 we read that the husband
Proverbs 31:28 of the virtuous wife praises her
and her children do as well.
