ACTIVITY #4 – The Essence of Technology

NAME: MAGDALERA JESSA L. DATE: MARCH 26, 2022

SECTION: PMGO1 2ND YEAR TIME:1:30-2:30

 Second Group (G2) supports the notion that “Technology is What Humanity
Does”.
 List down THREE (3) pertinent points individual and construct an individual
position paper regarding your stance.

Three pertinent points

1. Technologies change our human identities

In the 21st century the advent of technology into the life of human
has eventually change the how human beings view on being a human.
Technology allows us to be more faster and updated in our daily life
undertakings which make things easier for us from communication and
others. But with technology we don't act as a human being anymore sense
of touch is no longer evident, emotions may no  longer be that visible for
everything is based online. We forgot the value of listening and be
physically able to one another because social media's and emails are now
able with just one click of it. Our being human is affected as such we act
as based on technology already to the point of acting and pretending to be
someone who is not who you are just to be accepted in the world where
technology leads. As a youth in the 21 st century I can say that it was
indeed technologies change our identities because in these past years we
become more dependent on the technology, we used technology almost
every minute, every seconds and every hours, but we can’t deny the fact
that technology really help us in many ways but we humans we are into
technologies which we forget that we are living the world where there are
people you can talk to, you can share your problems, where you can enjoy
the bond with people because we uses technology every time. What I
would like to state is technology really change our human identity.

2. Technology is not only ubiquitous but has become highly intrusive as well .

On the Internet, people invent imaginary identities in virtual chat

rooms, playing out the lives they wish they really lived. Children are
growing up with interactive toy animals that respond to them like real pets.
Indeed, as I read journals some others claim that technology has not just
entered our private lives but started to define them which is indeed true.
For most of the last years, technology knew its place. We all spent a lot of
time with technology just like we drove to work, flew on airplanes, used
telephones and computers, and cooked with microwaves and etc,,.. But
even five years ago, technology seemed external, a servant. These days,
what’s so striking is not only technology’s ubiquity but also its intimacy.
Just like what I said on the Internet, people create imaginary identities in
virtual worlds and spend hours playing out parallel lives. Children bond
with artificial pets that ask for their care and affection. A new generation
contemplates a life of wearable computing, finding it natural to think of
their eyeglasses as screen monitors, their bodies as elements of cyborg
selves. Filmmakers reflect our anxieties about these developments,
present and imminent. I would like to state some journals I read it state
there that Until the End of the World, human beings become addicted to a
technology that shows video images of their dreams by Wim Wenders’s.
and in the Matrix, the Wachowski brothers paint a future in which people
are plugged into a virtual reality game. And human being increasingly
preoccupied with the virtual realities we now experience. People in chat
rooms blur the boundaries between their on-line and off-line lives, and
there is every indication that the future will include robots that seem to
express feelings and moods. Can you imagine mean to people when
their primary daily companion is a robotic dog? Or to a hospital patient
when her health care attendant is built in the form of a robot nurse? Both
as consumers and as businesspeople, we need to take a closer look at
the psychological effects of the technologies we’re using today and of
the innovations just around the corner.

3. Technology moved from being a tool to a master

Living in the 21 st century where technologies are everywhere, where
you can access all in the internet and where live is easy in living I can
clearly state that we’ve become more comfortable with these closer
bonds through our increasingly intimate connections with the technologies
that we have allowed onto and into our person. For most of the people, it
hasn’t been through technologies as exotic as a wearable computer, we
let technologies serve as our master and we become the servants. We are
dependent on the technologies around as because some people would
say it is tool, a tool for communication, a tool for new discoveries and etc
where in fact in today’s generation it become our masters, as a matter of
fact we can’t live without the help of technologies , without the
advancement of technologies we forget that we are human beings who
designed by our God to work and to help in preserving the world he
created and look what we do now because of the technologies and the
advancement of the technologies some people would consider that
technology serve as a master that we human beings are servant which
is very wrong because we human beings should serve as a master not a
servant of the technologies. And lastly I would like to tell that Human
beings are more superior than anything in this world because we are
design to be, therefore only God can make us a servant.

Thank you and God bless!!
