ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVES:
• To perform seismic analysis on building in different zones.
• To observe and analysis how various loads acts on the structure.
• To observe how the variations of beam and column changes as per
the seismic zones.
METHODOLOGY:
Two methods is used :
a) Equivalent static analysis :
In this only one mode is considered for each direction .
b) Response spectrum analysis :
This approach permits the multiplier modes of response
of a building to be taken into account.
SOFTWARE USED :
• Auto cad
• Staad-pro
• Excel
CONCLUSION :
1. The structure is not falling in compression but falling in tension
due to earthquake load imposed on a structure in various zones.
2. Variations are drastically higher in zone II to zone V .

• Use of computer software like Microsoft project software, which is most widely
and globally used.
PROJECT PLANNING
• Make a detailed list of activities
• Prepare a network diagram
• Identify the critical path
• Allocate the resources or juggle the schedule.
• Consider reported original plan
• Compare reported original plan
SCHEDULING METHODS
a. Bar chart
b. Line of balance chart
c. Network-based diagrams
CONCLUSION :
The construction planning and scheduling was done using the project
management software known as Microsoft Project and was found effective
in scheduling, allocation of resources and tracking of project.
• The schedule which was prepared here involves periodical as well as day to
day observation in scheduling and tracking of the project.
• Scheduling using computer software as a tool was found to be easy and
accurate. The project schedule and project track generation was its main
highlight. The schedule report helps in identifying start date, finish date, also
the duration of the project as a whole.
• Quality construction assurance documents were prepared
to maintain the quality aspects in such a manner that the
standards set by BIS are maintained

OBJECTIVES :
• Use of computer software like Microsoft project software, which is
most widely and globally used.
• To identify scheduling method used by the organization in developing

• To identify scheduling technique used in developing planning and
scheduling.
METHODOLOGY :
In this project various methodology adopted for the elution of the project. In
this some of them which are used mostly are :
• Planning
• Auto cad
• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Project
CONCLUSION :
• The following project involves the use of Microsoft project software for
estimating and costing although it requires a very detail scheduling.
• This project will provide a vast knowledge about the software as well as
how planning and scheduling is done in the construction industry for a big
project.
• The study of Microsoft Project software is very great platform for the
detailed estimation, costing and scheduling.
J 12
1. Microsoft project software works on Gantt chart concept. This gives the
easy understanding of the progress of work with scheduled time.
2. Many project managers suffer to finish the project within the duration and
estimated cost. They may add more resources or increase working hours to
finish the project within the duration.
3. Schedule crunching is most effective technique in optimization of time
and cost. But quality is not guaranteed in this technique because the efforts
are done quickly in order to finish the project.

OBJECTION :
1. To model the residential building using the STAAD Pro software and analyse
the same structure using STAAD Pro.
2. To analyse the residential building and structural elements like beams, stairs,
columns, slabs.
3. To design the residential building using STAD Pro - To design the structural
elements like beams, stairs, columns, slabs using software
CONCLUSION :
OBJECTIVES :
• To study the behaviour of a building under the action of seismic loads.
• How the seismic evaluation of a building should be carried out.
• To compare various analysis results of building under zone II, III, IV, and V
using ETAB Software.
• To calculate the types of loads acting on such kinds of buildings.
• To study the seismic analysis technique, like, response spectrum analysis,
and its application by using the software.
METHODOLOGY :
• As from table 1, it can easily see that base shear varies from zone to zone
and from soil to soil.
• In table 1 the base reaction forces in the global xdirection are increasing
from zone- II to zone- V, in zone-II the value is 723.5497 and in zone-V, the
value is 3727.7996 means as the zone is increased the values also get
increased.
• In the figures of base shear, the values are changing according to the soil as
in soil-I the values are low & in the soil-III the values are high, so from this
it is understood that soil-I has a low base shear as compare to the soil-II &
soil-III.
• In table 2 the base shear values in the global ydirection are acting the same
as in x-direction because in y-direction the values are high in zone-V as
compare to zone-II & the soil-III values are high as compare to the soil-I &
soil-II.
