Phased Array Inspection Seminar

Your City, Your date

Chris Magruder
Seminar Objectives
 Participants will have a basic understanding of Phased Array Theory and basic instrument set up.
 Participants will have a basic understanding of the equipment, engineering, code compliance issues, and training requirements for manual,
semi-automated, and full mechanized phased array and TOFD inspection.
 Participants will be presented a short course on Time of Flight Diffraction and why it complements phased array. (Theory, Inspection,
Analysis, Applications)
 Participants will be presented real world examples of customer success stories for replacement of RT to include job engineering, data
samples, pictures, and movies.
 Participants will be presented with live demonstrations of phased array flaw sizing and characterization on real weld defects utilizing
Olympus instrumentation, scanners, and software. Both manual and automated systems to include analysis for code based acceptance
criteria (ASME, API, AWS, etc) and reporting.
 Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss any particular applications they are considering for phased array.
