Plastado is an
agricultural land with
few tress scattered in its
more than 200 hectare
size. The entire barangay
was formerly owned by
the late Capitan Jacoba

»It was named Plastado
because its land surface was
flat and clear of other
vegetation except rice and
sugarcane, the principal
crops. Most of the residents
of the barangay are tenants

During child delivery, the mother
is assisted by the local midwife
called the “HILOT”. The hilot
is not registered snd not even a
professional medical authority. The
hilot gives daily massage, usually
lasting from 15 to 20 days to the
woman who gave birth.

“TEGAWAN” is usually
chosen among the relatives, friends

 In order to heal the sick, the quack doctor
requires the father of the sick child to perform
some rituals called “ATANG” to
appease the dwarfs. They believed that it is bad to
strike pillows with each other especially at night
because the sound being produced is a sign of
bad omen. They also sprinkle vinegar on the post
of the house for they believed that sprinkled
vinegar will drive away the thunderbolts.
