Features of Questionnaire
i) Questionnaire is a list or a set of questions.
ii) Questionnaire is prepared by the researcher. It contains questions relating to the
topic of his research.
iii) The purpose of each question of the Questionnaire is to elicit specific information from
the respondents.
iv) The questionnaire is sent to the respondents and they send their answers back to the
researcher.

Stages in Questionnaire Designing
Covering letter
◦ A short letter should be enclosed. The letter should
state in as few a words as possible the purpose of
the survey and how the informant would tend to
benefit from it.
Re testing of Questionnaire:
◦ The investigator can find out what are the
drawbacks of the questionnaire, i.e., which
questions ought to be deleted and which more
ought to be added.
Method of Tabulation
◦ The method to be used for tabulating the results
should be determined before the final draft of the
questionnaire is made. If the results of the
questionnaire are to be computerized, it is desirable to
consult the computer experts before making a final
draft.
