INTRODUCTION

 BEL is one of the eighth Public


Sector Units ( PSU’s) under ministry
of defence Government of India.

 BEL started with the manufacture of


a communication equipment in
1956.

BACKGROUND OF BHARAT ELECTRONICS
BANAGALORE

-Bharat Electronics Limited ( BEL) is a


Government of India Enterprise founded in
1954 in Bangalore India. With it’s Head
Quarters as Bangalore.

-The total number of employees of Bharat


Electronics is approximately Ten Thousand.

- BEL is one of the eighth Public Sector Units


( PSU’s) under ministry of defence
Government of India.
-BEL started with the manufacture of a
communication equipment in 1956.

-BEL started producing receiving valves in 1961,


Germanium semi-conductors in 1962 and Radio
transmitters for AIR in 1964 with the help of Soviet
Union.

-BEL offers products and services in a wide


spectrum of technology like Radars, Military
Communications, Navel Systems, Electronic
Warfare Systems, Telecommunications, Sound and
Vision Broadcasting, opto-Electronics, Tank
Electronics, Solar Photovoltaic Systems, Embedded
Software and Electronic Components.

approach and systems capability, which is a
direct result of it’s commitment to providing
tailor-made solutions to the customers
through it’s philosophy of quality
management.
SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICE PACKAGING

Bharat Electronics Ltd has been


manufacturing Silicon Semiconductor
Devices with an infrastructure set up
in collaboration with Phillips,
Holland.
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

The Software group in BEL is


powered by over 100 software
systems professionals whose
experience covers application areas of
Defence, Space, Communication and
Commercial segments.
QUALITY ASSURANCE FACILITIES

BEL has set-up a separate Quality Assurance division


with an investment of around USD 4mn for the
implementation of quality assurance system
throughout BEL.

This division is engaged in a variety of quality


assurance tasks like:
Component Testing, Material Testing, Material
Inspection, Electronic Measuring Instruments
Calibration, Quality management services,
Electromagnetic compatibility testing, Environmental
Testing, Reliability analysis, TORQUE services.
