HISTORICAL CONTEXT

In 1970's, a group of eminent academacians,

Virgilio G. Enriquez for psychology, Prospero R.
Covar for anthropology, and Zeus A. Salazar for
history, pioneered the use of Filipino perspective in
the social science. Together they developed a
Filipino perspective and methodology to the study
of Philippine society and culture, to be carried out
in the midst of dominance of western perspective
especially in the study of social sciences.
WHAT IS PSYCHOLOGY?

The scientific study of the human mind and its functions,

especially those affecting bahavior im a given context.

EXAMPLE

For example, a study in Psychological Science

demontrates that people under stress tend to eat high-
calorie foods. Individuals who think in a "live for today"
mindset ate 40 percent more calories than the control
group.
WHAT IS ANTHROPOLOGY?

Anthropology is the systematic study of humanity, goal of

understanding our evolutionary origins, our forms of social
existence across the worl and through time.

EXAMPLE

Anthropology compares human societies across the

globe and across the time. We compares present and
past forms of government or legal and religious belief
systems, for example. We compare social structures,
like family dynamics, and study transnational
corporations.
WHAT IS METHODOLOGY?

A system of ways of doing, teaching, or studying something. The

methodology and findings of the research team have been
criticized. Ways of achieving things. Actively.

Structured

Stractured is data whose elements are

addressable for effective analysis. It has been
organized into a formatted repository that is
typically a database. It concerns all data wich can
be stored in database SQL in a table with rows
and colomn. They relational keys and can easily
mapped into pre-designed fields. Today, those
data are most processed in the development and
simplest eay to manage information.
