3. Main Component
a. Ball recirculation pump.
Centrifugal, horizontal, open impeller, non clogging.
Deep stick oil check.

b. Ball collector.

Internal baffle screen which can be actuated to trap or release the

balls.
Pneumatic discharge valve of ball collector to allow balls
collected or circulation.
Acrylic top cover used to check the balls and to filled new balls.
A manually operated drain valve allows to remove of balls.
3. Main Component

c. Control panel
To control not only the operation mode in manually or automatic but also
monitor :
 Grid position of balls strainer.
 Start-up and shut down sequence of balls pump.
 Circulating balls or collection balls.
 Ball counter
 Any alarm.

d. Balls strainer
Removing balls from seawater flow after cleaned up condenser or
auxiliary heat exchanger.
Pivoting strainer at some angle to directed the balls to the return line
and if strainer already plugged by any debris then strainer would
move to back wash position.
3. Main Component

e. Dp strainer

Dp strainer (mbar) = P up stream strainer – P down stream strainer.

Parameter to indicated strainer already plugged or not.
If Dp strainer > 100 mbar then control panel requested to backwash strainer.

f. Injection nozzle

Balls are injected in the direction counter flow of seawater to make

random distribution within condenser/aux heat exchanger.

g. Balls

Balls are elastomeric, larger diameter than diameter inner tube, same
specific gravity with seawater.
