The primary water system comprises the following
principal components:
• Primary water tank
• Primary water pumps (2x100%)
• Coolers
• Filters
• Primary water treatment system
• Alkalization unit

 Primary Water circuit

• The primary water is required for cooling live components and

circulated in a closed system.
• In order to prevent corrosion, only copper, stainless steels materials
are used throughout the entire cooling system.
• The primary water admitted to the pump from primary water tank is
first passed to the EE cooling water manifold then to the neutral
point of terminal bushing via cooler and fine filter.
• After having absorbed heat losses in the stator winding. Phase
connector and main bushing, the water is returned to the primary
water tank from TE cooling water manifold or the phase connector.
• The gas pressure above water level in primary water tank is
maintained constant by a pressure controller.
