What is a marketplace for used goods?

• A digital platform for users to meet browse
around and sell/buy used good for reduced
price.
• Being digital it eliminates the need of physical
stores results in less cost to the owner of the
digital store which ultimately results in less
added costs (commissions) and gives the buyer
a price point wise benefit of buying old things.

Problem Domain
• India is the second largest country in terms of
population and hence a big market for the brands.
Regularly a lot of peoples shop for products making
their old used products a waste for them.
• India has already a big problem regarding waste
and e-waste and a need of a marketplace which can
avoid getting those product scrapped out in waste
is quite important.
• As a big chunk of people belongs to lower-middle
class and buying user products for their day to day
activities prove to be a good way to fulfill their
demands which enhances the use for these kind of
platforms.

• The Shopee is intended to provide a digital platform for users to

• Shopee is an C2C e-marketplace for used goods. Being digital it
eliminates the need of physical stores results in less cost to the
owner of the digital store which ultimately results in less added
costs (commissions) and gives the buyer a price point wise
benefit of buying old things.
• Giving users such a platform Shopee can helps in reducing the
problem regarding waste and e-waste and making used products
available for reduced price is beneficial for both seller and buyer
and also avoid getting that product scrapped out in waste.
• Shopee also helps a big chunk of peoples in india as they
belongs to lower-middle class and buying used products for their
day to day activities prove to be a good way to fulfill their
demands.

 Users can post ads regrading selling of his/her used goods with its information.
 Users who are willing to buy used stuff can browse through products and shop for what they
want.
 Category and location based filtration of products possible
 Users intended to buy anything can request for seller’s contact information.
 After receiving the request the seller can check the genuinity of the buyer and accept/reject
requests based on that.
 User sessions and HTTP cookies.
