Institution Landscaping

• Institutional landscaping is the art of


beautifying the campuses and surroundings
of any institutional area.

• Institutional gardens are attached to either


public or private organization by the smart
collection of ornamental plants to increase
the beauty of that area
Importance of Institutional Garden
1. It increase the beauty of an area.
2. It is a place for relaxation.
3. It is a module of ornamentation.
4. It maintains the climatic balance .
5. It helps to keep down severe heat and cold
6. It also offer a therapy for teaching.

develop a geometric or fantastic shapes. It
increases the beauty of a garden. Durant, China
box, Cypress, Juniper, Ixora, Thuja, Streblus etc.
are used in topiary
PALM
The palm can be planted between the gap
of other plants on side of main road or as
group planting. e.g. Royal palm, Cabbage
palm, Lady palm, Bamboo palm,
Butterfly palm, Bottle palm, Today palm
etc.
AQUATIC ORNAMENTAL PLANTS

Precautions in Landscaping Institutional Gardens

1. Thorny plant should be avoided in road


side.
2. Shade tree is restricted to the border area,
game court and athletic field.
3. The use of cement or brick is not
recommended in the recreation area.
4. The front area should be planted with
medium sized trees
