There are tools and equipment that cannot be
immersed in liquid,such as nail drills,electric file
bits,and other types of electric equipment. These
items should be cleaned and disinfected using
disinfectant designed for these devices. Carefully
follow the manufacturer’s instruction in preparing
the solution and the directions for cleaning and
disinfecting the device.

PROCEDURE
1. Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes from
unintentional splashes of disinfectant .
2. Wear gloves to avoid possible

3. Remove all debris and artificial nail
products from the bit using a wire or clean
nylon nailbrush. You can soak it in acetone
for a couple of minutes if nail products like
acrylic stick onto it .
4. Wash bits warm soapy water using nylon
nailbrush and rinse well.
5. Immerse the bits into the Ultrasonic Disinfection Unit making sure
the disinfection solution is mixed according to the manufacturer’s 9

instructions. Completely submerge the entire bits , shank , and all


under the level of liquid for disinfections. Close the lid of the
Ultrasonic Disinfection Unit and switch it on. Bits should be
disinfected depending on the requirements stated on manufacturer’s
instructions. Do not leave the bits for a longer time or they may rust.
6. Remove the bits from the disinfectant ; rinse and dry well with a
clean towel.
7. Store the clean bits in a closed container marked “disinfected”
