c. Guided Instruction

Handicraft is a type of craft where people make things using only their hands or basic tools. The
items are usually decorative and have a particular use. Usually the term refers to traditional methods of
making things. The items often have cultural or religious value. Things made by mass
production or machines are not handicraft goods.
ent from "arts and crafts" because they are meant to be used for something. Handicraft items are
generally contrasted with mass production . It stimulates a person's creativity through art . Not only
that,it enhances a person's thinking power . It has been protecting our culture in many ways and will
further help preserve culture in the future through practice . (Refer to the google)
Tools & Equipment

 Embroidery hoops are used to hold fabric taut while stitching. We use plastic ones for
stitching and wooden ones for framing embroideries.
 Embroidery scissors are small and sharp, perfect for trimming floss cleanly and
closely. They're essential. I like to make "necklaces" out of mine so I don't misplace
them.
 Pinking shears cut fabric so that it has a jagged edge. This keeps the edges of your
fabric from unravelling as you work with it.
 Embroidery needles vary wildly in size - I recommend buying a variety pack to find
the size you like the most for each project.
 Water soluble pens are my preferred method of embroidery transfer. They're easy to
use, come in a variety of thicknesses, and wash out easily with cool water.
 Fabri-Tac Glue is the only glue I trust to finish my embroideries! It adheres
permanently to wood and fabric, and dries clear and fast. Also great for securing knots
or loose thread ends.
 Thread Heaven is a a thread conditioner. It will make your floss pull through the fabric
much more easily, and can also help you thread a needle with stubborn floss. One
container of this will last you a very long time.
 Embroidery floss comes in a few flavors, but we'll be using six-stranded floss for this
class. My favorite brand is DMC, which can be found at nearly any craft store.
 Embroidery fabric can be almost any type of fabric! However - linen, quilting cotton
and muslin are all great beginner embroidery fabrics because they're easy to work with.
Linen is my favorite!
 An iron and ironing board are extremely important to press fabric before you
embroider. Any ironing board will do, but I recommend a steam iron with multiple
temperature settings for best results.
 Light tablets are my preferred method of transferring embroidery patterns. They allow
for

Guide question:
2. What have you observe about the picture?

h. Linking Statement :

The primary goal of the Nail Care is to protect your hands, providing a strong shield as you
work with them each day, as well as a barrier – the cuticle – which keeps out environmental
pollutants. Regular, professional nail care ensures that your nails stay strong so they can do the
job.

In this lesson, our objectives and competencies is to:

 Identify the uses of tools and equipment in nail care according to task requirements
i. Guided Instruction:

Nail Care, once considered as a luxury for the few or as a mark of distinction between the
rich and the poor, is now within the reach of the general public. In fact, part of a person’s
grooming and a form of inexpensive relaxation is a regular nail care activity – be it
manicure, pedicure, hand spa or foot spa. https://bit.ly/2BomiZ0
Nail care, the maintenance of the fingernails and toenails, is important for health as well as cosmetic
reasons. Good nail care can prevent fungus infections of the nail, painful ingrown fingernails and
toenails, and infections of the skin in the hands and feet.
Nail care is especially important for those with diabetes, as infections of the feet in particular are
dangerous. To care for your nails, keep them short and trimmed (in the shape of the fingertip for
fingernails; straight across for toenails); keep your hands and feet and their nails clean (change your
socks daily); and wear pool shoes, flip-flops, or other protective wear when in places like public
pools or gym showers where you could get a fungal infection. Don't bite nails or pick at them or the
cuticles. Also avoid tight shoes and artificial nails. Diabetic patients are often recommended to go to
a podiatrist to care for and check their feet and toenails.
MANICURE AND PEDICURE
Emery Board
It is held in the same manner as the nail file. Bevel the rough surface of the nail using the fine side
to smoothen it. Emery boards are discarded after use on one person.
________________________________________
Orangewood Stick
It is held in the same manner as in writing with a pencil. To loosen cuticle, work around nail; for
applying oil or solvent, slightly dip the cotton-tipped orangewood stick and work around the base
of the nail; to clean under the free edge of the nail, from the center toward each side, with gentle
pressure so that live tissue at the root of the nail will not be injured.
________________________________________
Cuticle Nail Pusher
It is held in the same manner as in writing with a pencil. The dull spade side is used to push back
and loosen the cuticles. Keep cuticle moist using cuticle remover while working. Use the cuticle
pusher in a flat position to remove dead cuticle adhering to the nail without scratching the nail
plate. In using the pusher, avoid too much pressure to prevent injury on tissues.
________________________________________
Cuticle Nipper
Pick up the cuticle nipper by the handles and turn the cutting edges towards you; place the bent tip
of the index finger over the top of the shank. Place the thumb on the side of the handle and the
remaining fingers over the opposite handle. Use it with utmost care to remove dead cuticle and
hangnails so as not to injure live tissue.
________________________________________
Nail Cutter
Hold clippers with cutting edges downward between thumb, index and middle finger. Press clipper
handles by squeezing them together and remove excess nail length.
________________________________________
Nail Brush
Insert the ring finger and pinky in the nail brush handle and brush the nails with a downward
motion from the base to the fingertips to clean the nails and fingers.

n. Linking Statement :

The primary goal of the Caregivers are tasked with the important duty of providing support
and encouragement for the patients as well as themselves. Communication is key in the
relationship between a caregiver and a patient. It is important to both openly share feelings and
remain empathetic to the situation.

In this lesson, our objectives and competencies is to:

 Discuss caregiving
 Identify caregiving tools
 Classify equipment, tools, and paraphernalia according to types, and functions

o. Guided Instruction:

A caregiver is defined as a "person who attends to the needs of a dependent child or adult."
Caregivers manage the physical, emotional, spiritual, and practical needs of another person,
all while managing their own life, needs, family, and career.
On the surface, this doesn't sound like a particularly glamorous job. Caregiving can be
exhausting, frustrating, anxiety-provoking, stressful, and nerve-wracking. It can test our
body, our spirit, our emotions, and our patience. It may present us with financial challenges.
The needs of our loved one may outweigh our capacity as caregivers and often trump our
own needs. The caregiver may be tested, pushed, exhausted, scared, and isolated.
Despite all this, caregiving is often a rewarding, bonding, cherished, and important
experience between loved ones that few would ever choose not to do again. Caregiving
gives us the opportunity to connect, love, show affection, dote upon, reminisce, and be
compassionate and empathetic towards an individual for whom we care.

Guide question:
4. What have you observe about the picture?

t. Linking Statement :

The primary goal of Knitting stimulates the logical part of our brains and maintains us young
and active. Whilst we are knitting, we are giving ourselves a mental workout, calculating how
much yarn we need or the number of stitches and rows we need.

In this lesson, our objectives and competencies is to:

 Describe definition and characteristics of knitted products
 Identify tools and materials for knitting
 Classify the different knitting stitches.

u. Guided Instruction:

Knitting is a method by which yarn is manipulated to create a textile or fabric; it is used in

many types of garments. Knitting may be done by hand or by machine.
Knitting creates stitches: loops of yarn in a row, either flat or in the round (tubular). There
are usually many active stitches on the knitting needle at one time. Knitted fabric consists
of a number of consecutive rows of connected loops that intermesh with the next and
previous rows. As each row is formed, each newly created loop is pulled through one or
more loops from the prior row and placed on the gaining needle so that the loops from the
prior row can be pulled off the other needle without unraveling.
Differences in yarn (varying in fibre type, weight, uniformity and twist), needle size, and
stitch type allow for a variety of knitted fabrics with different properties, including color,
texture, thickness, heat retention, water resistance, and integrity. A small sample of
knitwork is known as a swatch.
In order to become a master knitter, you're going to need some tools. Much like any
other craft, knitting uses it's own unique notions to create just about anything!

Some things you'll need to get started:

 Knitting Needles
