INTRODUCTION :

 Packing -Packing is the process of enclosing or protecting the

electronics component for distribution, storage, sale, and use.
 Need of Packing
• Physical protection - from mechanical  shocks ,vibrations,
electrostatic discharge ,compression.
• Security –reduces the security risks of shipment of the
electronics components.

PACKING METHODS

TAPE AND REEL

AMMO PACK

BULK

TUBE

TRAY

4
TAPE AND REEL :-

Tape and Reel is a process of packing of the components by loading them into
the tape and the tape is wound on the reel.

AMMO PACK

The ammo pack is a continuous strip of cut tape to a predetermined quantity

with components placed on it. The cut strip is then placed into manufacturer
box for safe keeping.

BULK
In this packing method pallet-size box used for storage and shipping of
electronic component in bulk quantities.

11
TRAY :-

The tray is designed for SMD components that have leads on four sides (QFP
and TQFP packages) and require component lead isolation during shipping,
handling, or processing.Tray contains the components during component
assembly operations,transport and Storage.

12
TUBE :-

IC tubes are use to protect devices from ESD, during transit and for handling in
automated assembly processes. Covering most leaded devices, from SMD’s to
thru-hole devices, tubes ensure that product arrives at its point of use with
undamaged and ready for insertion.
