Visit To Wular Lake
Wular lake is also known as wolar in kashmir .It is the second largest
fresh water lake in south asia situated on the foothills of haramuk
mountain
.
The main source of water for wular lake is river Jhelum.This lake also has a small island in its
centre called the ZAINA LANK

SIGNIFICANCE OF LAKE
Wular lake plays a significant role in the hydrographic system of the kashmir valley
by acting as huge absorption basin for annual flood water.

wular is suffering from a massive decline in fish production due to
rising of siltation .The widespread pollution has stunted the fish
community ,conditioning the worst in poverty in the region.

HISTORY
Doodhpatri is a tourist destination and a hill
station in the state of jammu and kashmir.The
name doodhpatri means Valley of Milk.It is
known that the famous saint of kashmir
Sheikh ul Alam Shiekh Noor din Noorani has
prayed here and once then he was in search of
in the meadows,to offer prayers,he pricked
the ground with huis stick to seach for water
and milk came out.
He asked the milkthat u can only beused for drinking and not performing
ablution.And that’s how the meadow gets its name doodhpatri.
THE BEAUTY OF THE VALLEY
The water which flows from the meadowsgives a milky appearance when
we see from some distance.its beauty gets increases when we see the lush
green grassesover the meadows which are widespread.and also it has a
silver shinning stream running over the large stones.
It has a sloppy grassy landscapes with the diversity of multicolored flowers.It
also remains very cold throughout the year .
IMPACT ON ENVIORNMENT

People has also constructed houses there which is giving negative impact to
the environment . Constrution and cutting of trees is hazardous for the
surroundings because there are living animals like sheeps ,horses etc that is
not good for them.Somehow humans need is impacting the place in a negative
way.
SOCIAL LIFE

People in doodhpatri have a very sourceful life.They live on the most


natural sources .Most of them are sheaperd there.They have cattle who
gaze there .Chickens who give them fresh eggs,cows that gives fresh
milk.They eat fresh and sell fresh.As a tourist place ,horses for
riding,stuffs to sell for tourists food ,clothes etc

observe the environment and observe the environmental
parameters o that we can accurately quantifying the
impact an activity on an evironment.
