 INTRODUCTION
Electricity is a crucial basic requirement for any nation seeking to progress or maintain
its current level of development. Energy meter reading collection and distribution are crucial
tasks for the power department. Yet another burden for the agency is the revenue
collection for these energy bills.
Disconnection of power supply in the case of consumers who do not pay their bills also
requires the human operator to visit the premises. This requires a large number of
operators and long working hours to cover the required area of interest. A smart power cut
system design is the notion of this innovation.
 OBJECTIVE
By making this research, the safety of the workers in an Energy Company is
the main priority and apart from that it also focus on easy electricity cut off. In
general, Remote disconnection of energy meter is built to:

• Minimizing workers risk dealing with consumers.

• To provide an easy disconnection and reconnection without doing it
manually.
• To save time and money by disconnecting and reconnecting it without going
to consumers houses.
 
 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Energy Meter or Electric Meter is an extremely effective way to measure the electrical energy
usage of a home, building, or other electrically powered device. They are used in order to provide
accurate billing to consumers. But somehow, sometimes the consumers are the threat for some
workers in most disconnection times. Remote disconnection of energy meter is the other key to
disconnect the meter if needed. Therefore, this study pursues to its following problems:
1. Does the remote disconnection of energy meter have range limitations?
2. Does the remote disconnection of energy meter automatically disconnected after disconnecting it
remotely or it takes time before it can be disconnected?
3. How long does the remote disconnection of energy meter will be boon its stability and efficiency?
4. How effective is remote disconnection of energy meter when using GSM?
 
  SCOPE AND LIMITATION
The proposed project is focuses on residential houses used to lessen the risk of
workers by going out to cut the supply manually.

Scope

 This research focuses on remote disconnecting of energy meter, a meter

with the ability to be disconnected or reconnected remotely.
 The scope of this research work can also help the users and workers to
monitor their bills and pay on time.
 Conducting system maintenance of energy meter every 6 months.
Limitation

 This study of Energy Meter Disconnection is used only in a small scale

project and also in residential houses it will manage the consumer’s due
date of their bills and remote their meter in order to view and monitored
data from a location.
 This project uses a GSM modem wherein it also have a
Limitation like it only provides a limited data rate capability.
 This study is only applicable to the areas that has a good mobile network
strength/signal. Assurance that this study is effective is aside from making
the work easier it can also reduce the danger that the workers are into.
 This kind of energy meter can’t be used in a large scale buildings.

 RESEARCH ENVIRONMENT
This research focuses on residential and commercial buildings it is essential to any facility,
particularly in large buildings where there may be visitors or personnel who are unfamiliar with
their surroundings. Fire alarms alert building occupants of a fire alert emergency public
responders (police and fire) through a central station link to initiate appropriate responses.
