INTRODUCTION TO AI

BY – VEDANT SUNIL GITE

What is AI ?
• Artificial intelligence is the
simulation of human
intelligence processes by
machines, especially computer
systems. Specific applications
of AI include expert systems,
natural language processing,
speech recognition and
machine vision.
History of AI

• A
How is AI classified based on capabilities ?
• NARROW AI – Narrow artificial intelligence is artificial intelligence that implements
a limited part of mind, or, as weak AI, is focused on one narrow task.
• GENERAL AI - General intelligence is the ability of an intelligent agent to
understand or learn any intellectual task that a human being can.

• SUPER ARTIFICIAL INTELIGENCE -A superintelligence is a hypothetical

agent that possesses intelligence far surpassing that of the brightest and most
gifted human minds.
How is AI classified based on functionality ?
• Reactive machines -The reactive machine type is the most basic variety of
AI. It merely reacts to current scenarios and cannot rely on upon taught or recalled
data to make decisions in the present.
• Limited memory -Limited memory is a type of artificial intelligence. It refers to an
AI's ability to store previous data and predictions, using that data to make better
predictions. With limited memory, ML architecture becomes a little more complex
• Theory of mind - Theory of Mind is the branch of cognitive science that
investigates how we ascribe mental states to other persons and how we use
the states to explain and predict the actions of those other persons.
• Self awareness - Self-aware AI: The final type of AI where the machines are
aware of themselves and perceive their internal states and others' emotions,
behavior's, and acumen.
Applications of AI
• AI IN ASTRONOMY
• AI IN HEALTHCARE
• AI IN GAMING
• AI IN FINNACE
• AI IN SOCIAL MEDIA
• AI IN TRAVEL AND MEDIA
• AI INN ROBOTICS
