9
Steering Steering System Features Control Principle Mode Selection

 All-series models of new generation for Tiggo 7 are equipped with EPS electric power steering as standard.

EPS Electric Power Steering

 Direct current motor is adopted for

power motor

 Set: Electric power steering module,

electric power motor, steering gear

and steering column

10
Steering Steering System Features Control Principle Mode Selection

Task:
1.What are the advantages of electric power steering over
hydraulic power steering?

2.What are the reasons that cause the electric power steering to
become difficult or ineffective?

3.What are the faults of electric power steering system if

steering angle signal is ineffective?

4.What are the precautions for the center position calibration?

Correction Method Failed Method 1: There is no relevant removal

Angle Sensor Calibration

 Keep tires in straight status and steering wheel is horizontal

 Connect diagnostic tester and clear history DTCs of steering angle

 15 seconds after battery is disconnected, power on to start

vehicle, malfunction indicator light has been off

 Recalibrate vehicle at four-wheel alignment station

Method 2: There is relevant removal

 Remove spiral cable and angle sensor

 When angle sensor has been removed, rotate it clockwise 2
turns and keep
 Reinstall it to spiral cable with the status after rotation, and
then install them to vehicle
 Perform calibration according to Method 1
