INTERTEXT
Is shaping of a text’s meaning by another
text. It is the interconnection between
similar or related works of literature that
reflect and influence an audience’s
interpretation of the text.
Types of Intertext
1. Appropriation- adaption of text
2. Allusion- reference to a text; an inspiration

b. biblical
c. historical
d. cultural
3. Parody
Advantages
• Focuses on the process of composition
• Both reader and writer centered
Disadvantages
• Require special knowledge
• Ignores the fact that a word or a phrse can mean
something to a reader
Hypertext
• Text which contains links to other text
Advantages
• Acts a bridge gives learner• Analysis
the control • Critical thinking
• Gives the learner a control • Linked
• Deep • Direct
• Simultaneous
Disadvantages
• Getting lost
• Problem with concentration
• Unfamiliarity
• Little knowledge
