FAMILIARIZATION
TOOLS
A tool is any physical item that
can be used to achieve a goal,

T
especially if the item is not
consumed in the process. Tools
that are used in particular fields or
activities may have different
designations such as "instrument",
"utensil", "implement", "machine“.

MATERIALS(CONSUMABLES)

M
Materials are inputs to production or
manufacturing processes. They may either be
raw material, that is, unprocessed, or
processed before being used in more
advanced production processes, either by
distillation or synthesis (synthetic materials).

T
ALLEN WRENCH
An Allen wrench is one of the
simplest wrenches to use. The Allen
wrench itself is a small L-
shaped wrench with six sides. If you
look at a cross-section of the Allen
wrench, it looks like a hexagon.

CRIMPING TOOL
A crimping tool is a device used to
conjoin two pieces of metal by
deforming one or both of them in a
way that causes them to hold each
other. The result of the tool'swork is
called a crimp. A good example

T
of crimping is the process of affixing a
connector to the end of a cable.
WIRE STRIPPER
A wire stripper is a small, hand-held device used to strip the
electrical insulation from electric wires.

T
ELECTRONIC AIR BLOWER
A centrifugal fan is a mechanical
device for moving air or other gases.
The terms "blower" and "squirrel
cage fan", (because it looks like a
hamster wheel), are frequently used
as synonyms. These fans increase the T/E
speed and volume of an airstream with
the rotating impellers.
PRECISION SCREW DRIVER

MOUNTED HEAD FLASHLIGHT

A flashlight is a portable hand-held
electric light. The source of the light is
usually an incandescent light bulb
(lamp) or light-emitting diode (LED).
TWEEZERS
Tweezers are small tools used for picking
up objects too small to be easily handled
with the human fingers.

PUNCH DOWN TOOL

It is used for inserting wire into insulation-
displacement connectors on punch down
blocks, patch panels, keystone modules,
and surface mount boxes (also known as
biscuit jacks).

T
RJ 45
RJ45. An 8-pin/8-position plug or jack
is commonly used to connect
computers onto Ethernet-based local
area networks (LAN). Two wiring
schemes–T568A and T568B–are used

M to terminate the twisted-pair cable onto

the connector interface.
UTP CABLE
Twisted pair cabling is a type of wiring
in which two conductors of a single
circuit are twisted. UTP cable is also
the most common cable used in
computer networking. Modern
Ethernet, the most common data
networking standard
KEYSTONE WALL PLATE
Keystone wall plates are used in
commercial and industrial buildings to
cleanly attach telecommunication
cables etc. to a junction box, surface
mount box, or a mud ring mounted in
the drywall of a building. ... Keystone
wall plates are made of plastic and
M
have one to twelve ports.

OUTLET
An electrical outlet or receptacle is a socket that
connects an electrical device to an electricity
supply.
E/M
SPLITTER
A splitter is a device used to split the
cable signal if the signal must be sent
to two or more devices. Service
technicians might install splitters if they
activate additional outlets within your
home.

M
RACEWAY SLOTTED PVC MOLDINGS
Cable raceway helps organize exposed cables and wires running on your
ceiling and walls.

M
FASTENER CABLE TIE TWIST
TIE
A fastener is a cable tie that mechanically joins or affixes two or
more cables/wires together.

M
COMPUTER
A computer is a device that accepts
information (in the form of digitalized
data) and manipulates it for some
result based on a program or
sequence of instructions on how the
data is to be processed.

LAPTOP
Laptops combines the components,
inputs, outputs, and capabilities of a
desktop computer, including the
display screen, small speakers, a
keyboard, hard disk drive, optical disc

E
drive, pointing devices (such as a
touchpad or trackpad), a processor,
and memory into a single unit.
SERVER CABINET SERVER RACK
A single rack can contain multiple servers stacked one above the
other, consolidating network resources and minimizing the
required floor space.

E
PATCH PANEL
A patch panel, patch bay, patch field or
jack field is a device or unit featuring a
number of jacks, usually of the same
or similar type, for the use of
connecting and routing circuits for
monitoring, interconnecting, and
testing circuits in a convenient, flexible

E
manner.
MODEM
A modem (modulator–demodulator) is
a network hardware device that
modulates one or more carrier wave
signals to encode digital information
for transmission and demodulates
signals to decode the transmitted

E
information.

ROUTER
A router is a networking device that
forwards data packets between
computer networks. Routers perform
the traffic directing functions on the
Internet.
HUB
Hubs are devices commonly used to
connect segments of a LAN.
The hub contains multiple ports. When
a packet arrives at one port, it is
copied to the other ports so that all
segments of the LAN can see all
packets.
SWITCH
Switch simply allows Ethernet
devices to communicate with
one another, such as a PC or
network printer, and those are
typically what we call “plug and
play.”

E
UNINTERRUPTABLE POWER
SUPPLY (UPS)
An uninterruptible power supply or
uninterruptible power source (UPS) is
an electrical apparatus that provides
emergency power to a load when the
