The term " 한복“ (also known as
조선옷 ) refers to traditional
Korean clothing as a whole.
Hanbok literally means "Korean
clothing," and it is worn by both
South and North Koreans, as well
as the 조선족 (Korean-Chinese).
     
Along with the standard hanbok
ensemble, there are various types of
hanbok worn for different ages, social
classes, and special occasions.
Children's
. hanbok, wedding hanbok,
royal hanbok, Jeju Island hanbok,
court official hanbok, and hanbok
undergarments are all examples of
hanbok

The exquisite and

  
elegant hanbok exudes
dignity and embraces
the natural harmony of
form, structure, and
color.

O 포 is an umbrella term
for an outer robe or
overcoat and is
classified into two types:
Korean po and Chinese
po.

hanbok was made
up of a 저고리 (top),
바지 (pants), 치마
(skirt), and 포
(coat). Men's hanbok
are commonly
referred to as "

Traditionally, a woman's hanbok


consisted of seven different
layers of underclothes, but
nowadays women only need to
wear the skirt and one layer of
undergarments (usually long
pants). A man's hanbok consists
of a jacket (jeogori) and wide-
legged trousers (baji).

Baji  
Baji is a kind of traditional
Korean pants that is part of
the hanbok. A baji is baggy
and loose, so it is tied around
the waist. Baji refers to the
bottom part of the men's
hanbok.
JEOGORI
A basic
upper

hanbok
Traditionally,
a jeogori is made
out of leather,
woolen fabrics, silk,
hemp or ramie.
The original silhouette for Hanbok
jeogori shared similarities with the
clothing of the ancient nomadic
people of Eurasia due to the
cultural exchanges that ancient
Koreans had with the Scythians.
Durumagi
Durumagi, also jumagui,
juchaui, juui, is a variety of po,
or overcoat, in hanbok, the
Korean traditional garment. It is
a form of outwear which is
usually worn as the topmost
layer of clothing; that is it worn
over jeogori and baji.
Baeja
Baja, the Beauty of Korea is Arumjigi's first overseas
exhibition. E Jant and yet practical, baeja is a
traditional Korean vest. It has evolved through
countless unique styles for two thousand years,
giving it a rich sense of beauty that can be applied to
clothing in modern society today. Baja, so loved in the
past, can again be loved today to the point that it can
be worn in contemporary settings for a number of
reasons, including its beauty of simplicity and
proportions, beauty of color arrangement with use of
diverse color schemes, and beauty of harmony from
the effective mixing and matching of very different
materials and fabrics. In discovering the aesthetic
sense of baeja as 'truly beautiful and yet comfortable
to wear,' this exhibition shows diverse views on baeja
by master artisans and young designers working
today.
Jokki
A sleeveless, buttoned vest
worn over a basic top. It is
most similar to a western-
styled vest. It began to be
in Korean fashion and
culture in the late 19th
century.
HANBOK FOR
FEMALE
Jeogori - jeogori is a basic upper garment of the hanbok.

Dongjeong -The dongjeong is a removable white collar


placed over the end of the git and is generally squared off.

Otgoreum-The otgoreum are coat strings attached to the


bosom part to tie the Jeogori, hangs vertically across the
front of chima.

Chima- The chima is a women's outfit involve of a chima


skirt and jeogori top, Can be single, double, and quilted.
Hanbok is made with a wide range
of silk and cotton fabric.
The hanbok represents as the
open-minded  personality of the
Korean people. other conceptions
also believe that clothing
considerable symbolizes fullness.
Korean people even interested to
choosing hanbok colors and
decorations because every detail
that appears on it has a specific
meaning.
