HOSTEL BUILDING AT ROHTAK, HARYANA
The growing number of students in higher institutions all over the world has posed a lot of accommodation
problem on the part of students and school management. At College of Agriculture Labia, the whole process of
hostel allocation and management is done manually. The few hostels that exist in the college are not properly
managed. Statistics of the number of rooms required to match the growing number of students are far-fetched.
Most often, the overall process is time consuming and requires a lot of effort, student’s
information retrieval is difficult and records are unsecured due to manual method of storage using hard cover
notes. Hostel administrators cannot give accurate information of the occupancy of a particular room. These and
many more form the statement of the problem that necessitated this research work
The new system designed for computer driven student’s hostel
management and allocation will among other things: Facilitate timely allocation of hostel rooms to
students, Check the hostel occupancy at any time for information management Sum up the total amount
realized from hostel fee each session, Enable management to plan on improving hostel living condition, have
first-hand information on the statistics of students in the hostel, so also keeps the records of staffs employed
to work in the hostel

A hostel is a form of house in multiple occupation (HMO). That is, ‘… a property rented out by at least 3 people
who are not from 1 ‘household’ (eg a family) but share facilities like the bathroom and kitchen. For
more information see house in multiple occupation.
Hostels, specifically, are generally non-self-contained, and cater for an identifiable group of people, such as
students, travellers people who would otherwise be homeless and so on. They tend to be low-cost and may be
self-catering, or may provide meals.
Hostels fall within the sui generis use class for the purposes of planning permission, meaning they do not fall
within any other particular use class.
The Housing Benefits regulations define a hostel as a building with domestic accommodation, other than
separate and self-contained accommodation, where board or facilities for the preparation of food are provided
Construction in the Rohtak, Haryana each one of which is creating and accessing a vast amount of expert
knowledge. Everything from how to prepare a brief for a new project, right through to getting tax breaks for
water efficient taps. But that knowledge is inaccessible, fragmented and dispersed. If we integrate it into a single
resource that is easily accessible by everyone, the construction industry will be more efficient, more
collaborative, more innovative and it will make fewer mistakes. Designing Buildings is the most popular
construction industry Rohtak Haryana. It gives free access to 14,500 articles about the planning, design,
construction and operation of built assets. Users can find articles about things they don't know, and write
articles about things they do. xi

The site visit is the first gear in the design process. A detailed site analysis has to be done so as to understand the

features of the site, which will be very important during the design. The purpose of the site analysis is to record and
evaluate information on the site and its surroundings, and to use this evaluation in the design response. Location This
is the first aspect that one needs to look at. Where is the site located? How is the site approached? What is the name of
the street, the road etc on which the site is located? How far away is the major junction? Orientation The orientation of
the site plays a very important role in sitting of the building. This, when combined with the wind direction and sun
path, would give a good idea as to how the design should be oriented so as to optimize the design. The orientation
along with the sun path will also determine the placement of rooms inside buildings. Wind Direction Most of the
locations will have a general major direction from which the wind comes. However, this will not always hold true and
will vary from location to location. If we are to design a climatologically responsive building, it will be important to
consider the direction of the wind so that it can be channelized through the interiors. Soil Type & Condition Soils vary
from place to place. Their properties also vary according to the type of soil. Sandy soil, clayey soil, laterite etc, all
have different properties, which affect the design of the building. This is very important from a structural point of view
while designing buildings.
Topography refers to the slope and level of the land – whether the land is flat and plain, or whether it is sloping? From
a design point of view, a sloping site will be more challenging. If a site is sloping, the exact slope can be interpreted
from a detailed Contour map. The contour locations and spacing of contours will play a big role in the siting of the
building. It is always better to design buildings along with the contours, integrating it into the design to reduce

Design has a higher purpose that goes well beyond creating something that is pretty to look at. When it comes to
shopping centres, for example, design is about adapting the environment to their core audiences’ functional,
emotional, psychological, and social needs. For many developers, building a shopping mall is once in a lifetime thing.
It requires huge investment, time, hard work and patience; besides shopping malls don’t bring profits all at once.
PROJECT COST 9 .00 C R
There is no assurance that every mall built will be a success. Even successful malls can degrade and fall in the list of
empty and non-existing malls. India has a record number of malls which are being opened, but at the same time,
there are only a very few who are able to sustain the deceitful path of retail. Many of these malls are either closing
or dying at a fast pace. One of the primary reasons for the decline of the mall is improper design and planning. The
design and planning of a mall is the foundation of the structure, and it is one of the single most important
contributing factors to success.
A mall’s design has to be custom made to suit specific retail needs. The developer has to have a clear thought
process and vision of what he wishes to make and for whom. A mall has to be planned, designed and built like a mall
from start to end. Any ambiguity in the mind of the developer or absence of clarity would spell disaster. One should
not refrain from taking professional help in this context and as result so many malls in India are being constructed by
the foreign architects and the companies.
Jeremy Salmon, Chairman Asia-Pacific Board, Broadway Malyan says, “The core purpose of design for me is
differentiation. You give consumers a differentiated experience, a chance of doing and seeing things they haven’t
done or seen before.”
Despite all of these variations, there are a few constants that will never change, and which contribute to a successful
mall design, they are location, access, visibility, good parking, a good tenant mix and sustainability. These factors
together contribute to the mall being successful for the developers, traders and consumer. It has been said that the
more time a person spends in the shopping mall, the more she or he spends. So the idea is to bring people in the
mall not only for the shopping experience but for the experience of food and entertainment that will keep them
there.
There lies a challenge of sorts in convincing few developers of the need for well-designed parking areas, with good
ingress and egress and circulation. Automated parking areas are a definite no-go for retail centres. Customers need
the convenience of easy parking to contribute to the whole feeling of a satisfying shopping trip.

facility to reach its maximum capacity there must be a continuous demand for service. At most facilities
such a demand would result in large delays for the user and eventually become intolerable. To develop a
facility where there was virtually no delay would require facilities that could not be economically justified.
The second key aspect in the requirements analysis is to assess the capability of the airport to provide the

An older arrangement for student
rooms in residential colleges, one that
should be considered for new
construction, is the staircase
arrangement. In this model, which is
only effective if the buildings are
arranged around a courtyard, the
student rooms are placed around
independent staircases that open
separately into the courtyard. The
courtyard then serves to channel traffic
through a single college entrance and
past the major common rooms. In the
absence of a courtyard-like

I would not recommend the staircase
model as it would disrupt rather than
promote social cohesion. In new

old construction, it is very important to

apartments together
on the same corridors or staircases with common dormitory-style rooms. These spaces should be reserved for
graduate students (1.3.4) and older undergraduates, and perhaps for occasional married couples. You should not
segregate these different groups, but rather mix age groups together to a considerable extent, though certainly
with varying degrees of privacy. First-year students stuck in small doubles should see clearly that as they advance

Alexander makes with respect to small public squares (Pattern 61), where he notes that individual faces are
commonly recognizable up to a distance of 75 feet. When people cannot recognize each other at the opposite
ends of a long corridor they do not feel safe, because they are unsure whether the person heading their way is a
neighbor or perhaps an intruder. The optimal length of corridors in a residential college is actually shorter than
75 feet, however, because although people can successfully communicate at 75 feet in a raised voice, raised
voices are exactly what one should be trying to avoid near people’s sleeping quarters.

DISTRICT COURT
The first step for each court is to prepare a
vision statement for a period of ten years. This
statement should set out the targets that each
court would need to achieve in ten years.
Obviously, the targets would comprise of
objective and measurable goals as well as
goals which are not directly or easily
quantifiable. The measurable goals would
include things such as the reduction of arrears,
diminution in the time-lines of cases and ratio

detail and it would then be easy for the
concerned governments to make the financial
arrangements for providing the necessary infrastructure. Coupled with this is the need to adopt a professional
and scientific methodology for preparing the annual budgets of the high courts and the district courts.
Each High Court should constitute a committee of judges to prepare the court development plans. The committee
should, by and large, include judges who have had around five years’ experience as judges and who have at least
another five years or so till retirement. This is so because they would be sufficiently experienced and would also
have a long-term approach to the future. Under the supervision of the high court, similar committees of judicial

challenges. During the Initial stage, Our International School Consultants will help clients to validate the idea,
identify key issues to be addressed, gather information through market survey to understand competition, parent

determine the key criteria for the school to be successful and arrive at sustainable school concepts along with
draft timelines and draft budget.
A detailed School Project Report covering all aspects of the approved school concept, budget is prepared by our

is a document that promoters and school consultant agree upon. The report covers the following aspects of the
new school setup.
During this phase, the general design of the building is
created. Through a variety of means, the architects and
the owner develop floor plans and images of what the
project will look like. Many issues are as yet unresolved,
but the overall shape and style of the project are agreed
on, and the interior layout is often nearly finalized by the
end of schematic design.
It’s also wise during this phase to avoid making excessively
customized areas of the project. The building will outlast
its occupants and probably outlast its original function.

involved in the design of my school from the beginning.
When we looked at the most important components for a school community, one of our major focuses was diversity on
campus. The physical space in the school is of course important, but the mindset of the community is also a key factor
that needs to be cultivated. Equitable learning opportunities can look a variety of ways. A lot of times people want to
focus solely on race, and it’s not always just that. It’s ability; it’s accessibility, and so much more. First, we tried to
physically create an environment that was welcoming to all, in which all students felt that they could collaborate, try, and
experience differ-ent things. When all of the classrooms don’t have four walls or feature windowed walls, it literally
makes things very transparent. When you’re very transparent, or you have to be very transparent, some of the things
that happen behind closed doors can’t happen, or if they do, there’s a consequence to it. To give an example, for
teachers, when they’re teach-ing in a room that is completely enclosed, and maybe no administrator or anybody visits on
a semi frequent basis, how that teacher is talking to students, what they’re deliver-ing, or the opportunities that
students have to participate is not consistently monitored. Our setup really causes the teachers and the students to be
on display. They have to start walking the walk instead of just talking the talk, and that aligns with our DEI initiative here
at Canyon View High School.
From there, we also helped them to develop an educator profile. We asked: If those are the skills you want to build, what
does the educator have to do? What skills do they need to have to do that? Conclusions from this analysis helped
Canyon View to hire its education team, and to define the expectations for how people are going to behave and what
teaching and learning at the school would look like. It’s an intense process. For Phillip and his team, many of them had
other jobs while they were doing this, and only a couple of them were full time, but they still put a lot of time and
energy into this process, which certainly paid off in Canyon View’s end result.

All of the sensors and guidance systems discussed so far
have one goal: to deliver a warhead to the immediate
proximity of the target. At this point, of course, the
warhead will detonate and hopefully disable the target.
Warheads come in a wide variety of designs, some only
useful for special purposes. But the majority cause
damage in one of two simple ways: either by concussion
(blast effects) or by penetration with one or more
fragments.
Warhead Construction
The typical warhead has three functional parts: the fuze
