2 Executive Summary

Toothpaste candy are claimed as a sustainable oral care solution because of their plastic-free
concept and ability to deliver the same health benefits as toothpaste cream without harming
the environment. Various studies on the environmental impacts related to toothpaste
packaging have been conducted; however, far too little attention has been paid to toothpaste
ingredients. Life cycle assessment was employed to evaluate the impacts between cleaning
teeth with toothpaste cream and candy. The functional unit of brushing teeth for 2 min twice
a day for 6 months was compared within a cradle-to-grave system boundary. The study was
conducted in the context of toothpaste manufacturing and domestic consumption in Thailand.
Results show that using toothpaste candy remarkably contributes to a higher score than
applying toothpaste cream, accounting for 188 and 163 milli points, respectively. About 65%
of the total impact is from the use phase, and 20% is from ingredient production. The damage
to human health is the biggest concern. Sugar alcohols, magnesium
stearate, and polyvidone are inactive ingredients in the tablets that cause serious human
health problems. Toothpaste manufacturers should reconsider ingredient substitution and
redesign an appropriate amount and form of the tablet to mitigate the abovementioned
impacts.

Chapter 01

Develop Innovative Idea for Product or Service

My innovative idea is toothpaste candy. I got this idea keeping this in mind that in today’s life as
people busy in their work and having less time for themselves. And as we know this time
is full with the germs and new bacteria so personal hygiene is very important for all of us. Oral
hygiene is one of important part as all health-related protections.

Oral hygiene is the practice of keeping one's mouth clean and free of disease and other problems
(e.g., bad breath) by regular brushing of the teeth (dental hygiene) and cleaning between the teeth.
It is important that oral hygiene be carried out on a regular basis to enable prevention of dental

and sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), which is a common irritant that can increase tooth sensitivity
and cause canker sores, explains Tosi. Instead of fluoride, the tablets use xylitol, a sugar alcohol
that doubles as an antibacterial. Each small jar contains 60 tablets, a one-month supply if used
twice daily. Toothpaste tablets are the best and easiest way to maintain oral hygiene everywhere
anytime, when it going to be chew in the mouth, then it changes into the foam form and with wet
brush people can start brushing and after lunch you can use it as a mouthwash no need to
brushing, toothpaste tablets works both toothpaste and mouthwash.

Screening of idea
Candy toothpaste has some potential as an interesting novelty item, but it might not have much of
a market. Kids may find it fun to have toothpaste in candy form, but it could have a sour or
unpleasant taste. Furthermore, candy toothpaste could be difficult to produce and may not be very
cost-effective. The novelty factor could make it appealing to some consumers, but it may not be a
viable product for mass production.
Toothpaste candy would be an interesting idea to explore. It would provide a unique combination
of flavors, colors, and textures that could be appealing to consumers. There are several factors to
consider when screening this idea:
1.Taste: Toothpaste candy would need to have a pleasant taste. The flavors should be familiar, yet
unique.
2. Texture: Toothpaste candy should have a pleasant texture that would be enjoyable to consume.
It should also have a unique texture that would differentiate it from other types of candy.
3.Appearance: The colors used in toothpaste candy should be vibrant and eye-catching. The
packaging should also be visually appealing.
4.Marketability: Toothpaste candy should be marketed to the appropriate target market. The
product should be marketed in a way that would make it appealing to the target market.
5.Cost: The cost of toothpaste candy should be competitive with other types of candy. The cost
should also be reasonable so that it is affordable to the target market.
6. Legal Considerations: The ingredients used in toothpaste candy should meet all applicable food
safety and health regulations. There should also be an understanding of the labeling requirements
for the product.

Objective of innovation

The objective of the innovation is to create a new type of candy that tastes like toothpaste, while
still being enjoyable and satisfying to eat. This could be achieved by incorporating ingredients
such as mint, menthol, and other flavors commonly found in toothpaste to create a unique flavor
profile. Additionally, the candy should be designed to be enjoyable to eat, such as in a gummy
texture, or as a hard candy. The innovation should also be designed to be safe for consumption,
and should not contain any ingredients commonly found in toothpaste that could be harmful

The objective of this innovation is to create a toothpaste-flavored candy that helps to promote
good oral health while still being enjoyable to eat. The candy would contain ingredients to help
promote healthy teeth, such as xylitol, fluoride, and other natural ingredients, while also
providing a fun and tasty flavor. The product would be marketed to both children and adults, and
could be used as an incentive for brushing teeth or as a healthier alternative to sugary treats.

The objective of this innovation is to create a toothpaste flavored candy that is both enjoyable to
eat and beneficial for oral health. The candy should contain ingredients that are known to fight
cavities, strengthen teeth, and freshen breath. The innovative candy should also be affordable and
easy to find in stores.

Need of innovation

The toothpaste candy industry needs innovation to keep up with the ever-changing market
environment. Innovations such as the use of natural flavors, new shapes, and different packaging
can help companies stay competitive in the market. Additionally, companies should explore new
ways to market their products to different demographics, as well as create products that are unique
and stand out from the competition. Finally, companies should continue to research and develop
new flavors and textures to provide consumers with new and exciting experiences.

The toothpaste candy industry could benefit from a few innovations to help make the product
more appealing to customers and to make it easier for manufacturers to produce. Some potential
ideas for innovation in the toothpaste candy industry include:

1.Creating a unique flavor for each type of toothpaste candy. For instance, mint flavored
toothpaste candy could have a different flavor than the strawberry flavored version.

2. Developing toothpaste candy with a variety of textures, such as crunchy, chewy, and creamy.
12
3. Introducing new packaging options, such as resealable pouches or individually wrapped pieces.
4.Utilizing natural ingredients to make the toothpaste candy healthier and more appealing to
health-conscious consumers.
5. Incorporating technology into the toothpaste candy production process, such as using 3D
printers to create shapes or printing edible logos on the candy.
6.Developing a wider range of toothpaste candy products, such as gummy bears, hard candy, and
lollipops.
7. Creating a subscription service to deliver toothpaste candy regularly to customers.

Uses of innovation

8.Incorporating natural ingredients into toothpaste formulas to create a more health-friendly

option.
9. Developing toothpaste flavors that appeal to children, such as bubble gum, candy, and fruit.
10.Creating toothpaste with unique textures, such as gels and foams.
11.Developing toothpaste that is specifically tailored to different age groups.
12.Creating toothpaste with special whitening agents and other additives to improve dental health.
13.Creating toothpaste that is tailored to different lifestyles, such as whitening toothpaste for
smokers, or toothpaste specifically designed for athletes.
14.Developing toothpaste that is designed to help reduce sensitivity to cold or hot foods and
beverages.
15.Introducing toothpaste in different forms, such as tablets, gels, and pastes.
16.Developing toothpaste with special ingredients to help fight cavities and gum disease.
17. Developing toothpaste with additional benefits, such as breath freshening and whitening.

CHAPTER 03

Financial Feasibility:
Our estimated cost for the first year is 1 cr.

For this 1 am looking forward for support through government. Government has launched various
schemes to support start-ups. One of them is start - up - India.

Through start- up - India government is supporting the various start ups by the people of India for
different ranges of investment and turnover.

7.00,000 capital of my own and for rest, I will go for take loan from govt.

 Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) offers a wide range of finance

schemes to the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) industry. Loan amounts

can range from Rs.10 lakh to Rs.25 crore. Loan repayment tenures can go up to 10 years

These loans, which are offered at attractive interest rates, help provide necessary capital

for the growth and expansion of MSMEs. Loans above Rs.1 crore can be availed without

any collateral required. Loan subsidies are also available.

Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDB) is the apex regulatory body for overall

licensing and regulation of micro, small and medium enterprise finance companies in India. It is

under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Finance, Government of India headquartered at Lucknow

and having its offices all over the country. Its purpose is to provide refinance facilities to banks

and financial institutions and engage in term lending and working capital finance to industries,

and serves as the principal financial institution in the Micro. Small and Medium Enterprises

(MSME) sector. SIDBI also coordinates the functions of institutions engaged in similar

15
activities. It was established on 2 April 1990, through an Act of Parliament It is headquartered in

Lucknow SIDBI is one of the four All India Financial Institutions regulated and supervised by

the Reserve Bank of India; other three are India Exim Bank, NABARD and NHB, But recently

NHB came under government control by taking more than 51% stake. They play a statutory role

in the financial markets through credit extension and refinancing operation activities and cater to

the long-term financing needs of the industrial sector 3

SIDBI is active in the development of Micro Finance Institutions through SIDBI Foundation for

Micro Credit, and assists in extending microfinance through the Micro Finance Institution (ME)

route 1ts promotion & development program focuses on rural enterprises promotion and

entrepreneurship development.

In order to increase and support money supply to the MSE sector, it operates a refinance
program

known as Institutional Finance program. Under this program, SIDBI extends Term Loan

assistance to Banks, Small Finance Banks and Non-Banking Financial Companies. Besides the

refinance operations, SIDBI also lends directly to MSMEs.

As part of non-financial intervention in the MSME sector, SIDBI had also undertaken various

measures in the past. Recently, in association with credit rating agency CRISIL and Credit

Information Company TransUnion CIBIL it has introduced "CriSidEx" and "MSME Pulse".

CriSidEx, India's first sentiment index for micro and small enterprises (MSEs) has been
developed

jointly by CRISIL & SIDBI. It is a composite index based on a diffusion index of 8 parameters

and measures MSE business sentiment on a scale of o (extremely negative) to 200 (extremely

positive). The crucial benefit of CriSidEx is that its readings will flag potential headwinds and

changes in production cycles and thus help improve market efficiencies. And by capturing the
16
sentiment of exporters and importers, it will also offer actionable indicators on foreign trade.

SIDBI in association with TransUnion CIBIL launched "MSME Pulse" and Microfinance Pulse

launched by Equifax, a quarterly report on MSME credit activity, for closely tracking and

monitoring the MSME segment in the country. The report is based on a study done on over five

million active MSMEs who have access to formal credit, with live credit facilities in the Indian

banking system.

SIDBI has launched the Udyami Mitra' Portal to improve accessibility of credit and handholding

services to MSMEs. They can select and apply for preferred banks through this portal. Under the

portal entrepreneurs can apply for loan without physically visiting any bank branches and can

select from over 1 lakh bank branches, track their application status and avail multiple loan

benefits. It also has facility for uploading all necessary documents. Through the portal the

MSMEs can also seek handholding support for getting finance. SIDBI has also entered into

an arrangement with CSC e-governance Services (CSCeGS) to take Udyami Mitra portal to the

unserved and the underserved MSMEs. CSCeGS is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) set up by

ministry of electronics and IT ( MeitY) which acts as connect point for various digitally aligned

services to villages in the country.

Managerial feasibility
Business owners are entrepreneurs until they become managers. When they become managers,

they will feel frustrated because they will need to deal with new problems like managerial

problems. And management is not a simple task. It needs knowledge and experience

Simply, managerial skills are the knowledge and ability of the individuals in a managerial

position to fulfil some specific management activities or tasks. When we talk about managerial
17
skills, we talk about the skills of a manager to maintain high efficiency. In my case, the way how
my employees complete their everyday working tasks. Because of that, I will need skills that will
help me to manage people and technology to ensure an effective and efficient realization of their
working duties.

Three types of skills that is essential for a successful management process:

 Technical skills
 Conceptual skills
 Human or interpersonal management skills

Technical skills
As the name of these skills tells us, they give the manager knowledge and ability to use

different techniques to achieve what they want to achieve. Technical skills are not related

only for machines, production tools or other equipment, but also, they are skills that will be

required to increase sales, design different types of products and services, market the

products and services, etc.

In our case we will look for user friendly website page for our customers so that they don't feel

any inconvenience in using our website and can easily use our page to punch the order.

Conceptual skills
Conceptual skills present knowledge or ability of a manager for more abstract thinking. That

means he can easily see the whole through analysis and diagnosis of different states. In such a

way they can predict the future of the business or department as a whole. In my business we are

committed to reduce the deforestation and with the increasing population of India and increasing

literacy rate of our country more people will require to read books and we are here to fulfill their

needs and that too without affecting our environment.

18
Human Or Interpersonal Managerial Skills
Human or interpersonal management skills present a manager's knowledge and ability to work

with people. One of the most critical management tasks is to work with people. Without people,

there will not be a need for the existence of management and managers.

These Skills enable managers to become leaders and motivate employees for better

accomplishments. Additionally, they help them to make more effective use of human potential in

the company. Simply, they are essential skills for all hierarchical levels in the company.

Social Feasibility and Acceptability

For social feasibility or acceptability, I created Google form and asked various people regarding
my start up.

19
Question: - To know about whether such kind of business is run by other persons also, my
question was: Have you ever heart of a product like
Toothpaste Candy before?

Fig: 3

There is 33.3% people who had never heard about this type of product before, and 44.4% said

that maybe they know this kind of product and other 22.2% people respond that they hear this

type of product before.

Question: -

To know how much market needs my product, my question was in today's fast life, does the
market need a product like Toothpaste Candy?

20
Fig:3.2

In answer of this ques 88.9% responses who said yes, the market needs my product. 11.1%

responses for may be.

Basically, it's just a start-up and I can't put much capital on this. So, with increase in my profit
and number of customers I will look further into advertising more through social media and
newspapers and will look for developing an app for my service soon

26
Conclusion

After researching toothpaste candy, it appears that this type of candy is not a real thing. It is likely
a term used to describe a particular flavor of minty-flavored hard candy. This type of candy is
widely available in a variety of flavors, but is not necessarily made to specifically taste like
toothpaste. As we are promoting the toothpaste tablet which works as both toothpaste and
mouthwash it is important to oral health because it helps to remove plaque and its bacterial build-
up on teeth and fights off periodontal (gum) disease. Toothpaste tablet also contains fluoride,
which bolsters tooth enamel and fights tooth decay. It is helpful to society in reduce the dental
diseases. there are no side effects of our product.

27
FUTURE SCOPE
The growing preference for chemical-free products and the rising popularity of environmentally

sustainable products drive the demand for the Ayurvedic toothpaste market, globally. The natural

ingredients used are clove, pudina sattva, ginger, neem, Tulsi, black pepper, nutmeg, eliche, etc.

When used as herbs, these ingredients give essential functional benefit required by the teeth for

effective protection and long life to teeth and gums. With the growing demand, key players

operating in the market focus on heavily investing in R&D for innovating new and improvised

toothpaste variants in terms of ingredients, flavours, packaging, and benefits. For instance, in

November 2020, Armoire launched its popular fresh mint flavoured ayurvedic toothpaste in eco-

friendly, zero-waste glass jars, with a metal cap and wooden serving spoon for environmentally-

conscious consumers looking for an eco-friendly alternative to traditional toothpaste tubes. This

packaging contains no plastic and is 100% recyclable, differentiating Armoire from its industry

rivals and giving it a competitive edge over the others in the market. Thus, the growing health-

consciousness and demand for products with herbal or ayurvedic ingredients, coupled with the

rising importance of oral hygiene among consumers, are expected to propel the global ayurvedic

toothpaste market growth.

The herbal industry's roots can be traced back to ancient history, especially in countries like India.

The growing awareness regarding the discerned as an alternative to the chemical formulations

system that advocates for a holistic and individualistic approach in all sectors, including the

personal care products industry, contributes to the acceptance of traditional ayurvedic products,

including toothpaste. The market in the country is further expected to grow at a faster rate, owing

28
to the Indian government's promotion of indigenous products and increasing nationalistic

tendencies. As consumer concerns about general hygiene persist, Asia's top fastmoving consumer

goods companies are expanding their oral care portfolio by entering new and niche categories,

such as Ayurvedic toothpaste Herbal, and Ayurveda's global reach is further pushed by the Asian

population migrating to foreign countries and creating a promising market for traditional oral care

products, including toothpaste. The Ayurvedic toothpaste market was valued at USD 767 83
million in 2020, and it is projected to

reach a CAGR of 13.41% during the forecast period (2021-2026)

Over the long term, the demand for ayurvedic toothpaste is majorly boosted by increased

consumer demand for sustainable, chemical-free, and eco-friendly products, along with a surge in

product developments cued from contemporary market potentials. This drives manufacturers to

the emerging category of Ayurveda and botanical extracts, gaining traction for its functional and

earthy subtlety among consumers.

Ayurvedic toothpaste is made from natural and certified organic ingredients. The ingredients

found in herbal toothpaste are olive oil, aloe, eucalyptus oil, myrrh, calendula, neem,

toothbrush tree, plant extracts, and essential oils. By distribution channel, the scope includes

supermarkets/hypermarkets, convenience stores, online retail, pharmacies/drug stores, and other

distribution channels.
