1. INTRODUCTION
1.1. BACKGROUND:
The Kirani bridge was proposed by Government of Baluchistan (Communication and Works
department) and designed by CAMEOS Consultants Engineers, Architects and Planners in
2011. First it was constructed in 2011 and the length of the bridge was 40m initially. It was
redesigned in 2014 and the length was extended to 80m.
1.2. PARAMETERS:
• Length of the bridge: 80 m.
• Span 4@20.
• Roadway width: 7.320 m.
1.3. MATERIALS:
Transom
Class A2 (24.0 N/mm ²) (3500psi)
4.2. METHOD:
The CSI Bridge software use finite element method for analysis. The finite element method (FEM) is a general
tool for solving differential equations suitable for structural engineering applications. FEM is capable of
handling large structural mechanics problems by discretizing the problem into a finite number of elements,
which in turn is governed by equations.
4.3. LOAD COMBINATIONS:
The load combinations used in Midas Civil are as per AASHTO LRFD-16 given below:

4.5. MODEL:
Bridge model made in Csi bridge civil is given below.
