What is Critiquing?
CRITIQUE (CRITICAL ANALYSIS)
form of writing that is precise, detailed and objective.
aims to study, discuss, evaluate, and interpret literary
works.
A critique could be:
• A critical essay
• An article evaluating a literary piece
• Or a review
Why do we need to critique a literary work?

state the title of the work and the author’s
name
outline the main ideas and identify the

State your own thesis statement and your
