20th Century called as " The Age of Extremes"

›Historian Eric Hobsbawm known as the 20th century as
the age of extremes, due to the character of events that
created first-rate adjustments in the political.

20th Century also called as " The American

Century"
›The American Century is a characterization of the period
since the middle of the 20th century as being largely
dominated by the United States in political, economic, and
cultural terms.
• It is not skeptical that 20th century is one of the most
noticeable in the history of humans for its
incomparable technological advances and scientific
discoveries.

• Technology was rapidly develop in the 20th century.

With the use of scientific method and funding for
research, it helped achieve the advancement of modern
science and technology.

• With the ascension of new technology, it enhanced the

communication and transportation system of humans
and brought it closer to people.
• The relationship between science and technology has
become more problematic on several levels in the 20th
century.

• Technology has become more scientific and the natural

sciences more technological, as the social scientific
concept of "techno science" indicates.

• At the same time,many technological innovations since

the 1970s have only slowly resulted in job- creating new
products.
• There were a lot of technologies made and science
discoveries. Such as:

-Electricity -Television
-Automobile -Transistor
-Personal computer -Telephone
-Radio -Airplane
-Internet

• Some of the greatest technological advancement

during this period was the creation of personal
computer.
• In 1971, Intel develop a microprocessor that made
computer smaller, easier to use, and cheaper which
replaced the early computers that is bulky and had a tube-
powered behemoths.

• In 1976, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak redefined the

meaning of computer by introducing Apple Computer.
• Computer has become a dominant tool in the global
economy and as a necessity in many homes that until
today we greatly rely on them.

• While in connection with the invention of personal

computers, the Internet was also created in 1969 for the
defense-related research known as ARPANet or
Advanced Research Projects Agency Network, which
helped us in terms of global communication, gathering
information through searching, conducting matters and
on our everyday affairs through the World Wide Web
which was created in 1989.
• Another one is the Automobiles, which were considered
to be one of the most revolutionary advancements in the
century.

• Because of Henry Ford (1863-1947) the exploitation of

the said technology was made possible by devising a
system mass production for the Model T in 1908, which
made cars affordable to people and also made a dramatic
change in society.
•One of the breaksthrough during the century was the
invention of Artificial Intelligence thats has the capacity
for a computer to perform humanlike intellectual
processes and it was later develop in 1940s.

•The earliest substantial work in the field of artificial

intelligence was done in the mid-20th century by the
British logician and computer pioneer "Alan Mathison
Turing".

• In modern, A. I features specially designed computers

that can "think"similarly to humans.

• A.I is also being used to assist doctors in making

medical diagnoses.
