SOLIS

INSTITUTE OF
TECHNOLOGY, INC.
A premiere school in Bulan, known for its Criminology course, Business and Education courses.
It was founded by the late Cong. Jose G. Solis, his legacy and philanthropic service .
"Formed in the spirit of dynamic growth, social justice,
and intellectual pursuits’’
• It started as a dream and now it's within reach. From a family of farmers in Antipolo, the Former
Congressman Jose G. Solis, a child of 1940s during the war experienced lack of educational support
and scarce resources made him realize that there is a need for extensive reform in his province.
• He believed that children should receive the best and most affordable education possible, close to
their homes. It now stands on his own land in the vicinity of Managanaga, Bulan.
• SIT believes that good and affordable education is a realistic and practical solution for the
underprivileged, and as a private institution, it strives to support such advocacy. Tuition fees are
reasonable, and modes of delivery are flexible, but the school's products have had a high success
rate over the last several decades.

SIT FOUNDING
HISTORY
START IT RIGHT WITH SIT
In 1992, the founding father who was a decorated military man during this time set-up a 5 PC
Computer School in his residence in Barangay Managanaga, this was the first in the Municipality. The
School was called DICS (Datamasters Incorporated Computer School), a name inspired from DECS
itself (Department of Education and Cultural Sports). We offered short term courses:
• Computer System • Graphics using New Master

• Word Star Version 4 • File Management using d'Base III

• Lotus 123 • File Management using d' Base III+

• Quattro Pro • Spreadsheet using symphony

• Computer Typing Basic

It may be informal in nature, mission-vision unwritten but its goal was definitely to give access to
innovation and affordable education.
TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL
• In 1994, a one-year computer secretarial and six-month computer programming program was
added and permitted under TVEP-29 later on Government Recognition No. 15 Series of 1996. It
expanded its potential in the area of technological education by offering a two-year computer
programming course and a one-year data encoding course through TESDA.
• In 1997, DICS became SIT Inc. also known as Solis Institute of Technology, Incorporated. A
corporation formed by the founding father and his family which is under the Security and Exchange
Commission. As the school progresses, the Department of Education strictly implements and
guides legal documents and requirements, particularly in Region V, in preparation for the formal
opening of a baccalaureate course.

ADDED TESDA COURSES

BACCALAUREATE PROGRAMS
• In 2000, SIT opened its doors to a wider and more responsive solution to the needs of the
community in terms of growth and development in the field of Education.
• We offered a four-year degree courses
• Bachelor of Science in Criminology
• Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Legal Management
• Bachelor of Elementary Education
• Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Filipino and English
• The school was now prompted to expand its facilities, which began in a basement of a house, to a
five-story building with an additional four-story building on the same compound.
KIDERGARTEN/ PREPARATORY
• 2005 came and the School offered Preparatory for children’s beginner program. It has three rooms
which were all fully air-conditioned situated in the old building. It was a success, and the
community appreciated the service and output for a time. Unfortunately, due to the system,
economic situation of both personal and professional growth of the faculty, it was difficult to keep
up with the government's promising rates and benefits. As a result, as a private institution, we
strive to pursue and excel in providing avenues and means to continue serving our community..
HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING
• Like any other educational institutions, Solis Institute of Technology is subject to constant change.
The school began offering Basic Education through the High School Academic Program in 2006, and
another building adjacent to the old and new buildings arose to accommodate this. It has 14
rooms in the same area for class discussions, laboratories, faculty, the principal, and the canteen.
The high school students increased from 15 to 118 of mixed genders during the school year 2009-
2010, with 14 graduating in the first batch of 2010.
NEW BOARD OF INCORPORATORS
• 2012, a new set of School Administrators in its stakeholders were formally recorded in the Security
and Exchange Commission. As situation persist in succession, a lot of changes were introduced in
terms of system’s operation, management, and policies.
• The team has become more assertive in pushing the strength of service to be more competitive
and useful.
• The same way four more classrooms were added and other improvements on the physical facility
were seen.
K-12 PROGRAM
• 2013, then President Benigno S. Aquino III signed RA 10533 “An act enhancing the Philippine Basic Education System strengthening its
curriculum and increasing the number of years for basic education, appropriating funds therefor and for other purposes. In this regard,
schools were constantly prepared through seminars, trainings, consultations, and inspections to gear towards this vision of enriching
the masses and investing in their future.
• 2015-2016, SIT’s first batch of K-12 and the same year created its FB Page account to cater more prospective clients. Ours were set only
for Grades 7-10 and Grades 11-12 which has a strand/track of:
o TVL or Technical-Vocational Livelihood, invests primarily on skills that can gain student requisite Certificate of Competency and
National Certifications which would be essential when looking for better career opportunities in agriculture, electronics, and trade
and
o ABM which stands for Accountancy, Business and Management takes student on a direct path to careers in accounting and
management.
• These strands are also important when applying abroad where the skills you gain would prepare the student to join the workforce
should they prefer to do so. These are designed all in preparation to tertiary education if opportunity for the student subsist.
• This paved the way for our Institution in giving a more extensive Scholarship Program especially for those who will be considered loyal
students of SIT. In reference to this they ought to start from grade 7 to grade 10, then be a completer of grades 11 to 12, then moving
forward as Freshman here in order to avail of such program.
• By God's grace, we are able to carry on the founding father's legacy of serving and assisting the community. We began
with a generous number of students (281), which has now been more than doubled in total. Senior High School had 101
students in SY 2016-2017, and so on. In comparison to the previous number from our history, our high school had only a
handful of 15 students.
• Surely, K-12 Program was hard to implement as it needed so much effort, scrutiny, time, money, and intellect. Behind are
the hard working heads, officials, and employees of the Education sector and all concerned in the Country.
• Of course, with the assistance of educational institutions, both public and private, administrative staff, academic boards,
and management who develop and obtain relevant documents for its functions. It not only helps students gain
additional knowledge and skills, but it also prepares them to be globally ready and equipped for job opportunities, as
well as providing SME (Small to Medium Enterprise) Businesses with more efficient socio-economic growth.

As the African Proverb says “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together” This is
how a community should work.” Everyone plays a vital role no matter how small or big it is for it takes a
village to educate a child as they say.
NEW ADDED PROGRAM
• 2017-2018, Grade 12 was opened wherein it has a total enrollee of 62.
o HUMSS (Humanities and Social Sciences) which focuses on oral communication, media and information and enhancing
reading skills and
o STEM (Science, Technology , Engineering and Mathematics) were also added to the strands.
o The following year GAS (General Academic Strands) was added which is said to be the most flexible strand among the
four.

• During the same school year, the institution restructured the curriculum from Major in Legal Management to
other majors for the College of Business Administration, such as Human Resource Management, Business
Economics, and Financial Management.
• As we indulge into a broader perspective the School formalized the Academic Board and Council under the
name of the Solisian Board of Pioneers otherwise known as the SBP. The group has 5 members with equal
standing and certain committees to help the School Administrative Board in facilitating a more conducive
environment, organized, fast-paced processes, well-settled, and comfortable Solisian Community.
COVID-19 OUTBREAK
• 2019-2020, a global pandemic came as a surprise for all in this lifetime. The COVID-19 outbreak declared by
the WHO was the first severe health emergency which was fatal and unknown.
• The School stopped around March of that year and started again around the August. The disruption started
after the summertime for a 2 months preparation for continued learning.
• Since the then President Rodrigo Roa Duterte felt the need to pursue education amidst the pandemic as he
instructed the Department of Education and Commission on Higher Education, the heads and the rest of
the agency labored tirelessly day and night submitting documents from schools to Congress, to the Palace
and the Department.
• As a learning institution, we were also subjected to follow instructions to fulfill the goal in learning
continuity amidst the challenge of the work-from-home and skeletal workforce for alternative work
arrangements.
THE NEW NEW
• 2020-2021, SIT launched its LMS (Learning Management System), first in the Private Schools in Bulan, Sorsogon through
the use of the internet.

• Solisians can access the portal designed for their academic pursuit and training continuity by delivering education to the
comfort and safety of their homes or distance learning as we know.

• DEPEd and CHEd introduced Flexible and or Blended form of Learning during these challenging times. We were allowed to
use Offline Modular Base Form of Modality for the High School Department again with the guidance of the authorities.

• Meanwhile, the College Department was more open to having limited face-to-face under the policies set forth by the
Health Agencies and LGU. The students were also given different forms of modality such as the on-line class, online portal,
and other creative materials and manner of learning.

• This was also the year where we received our rating of 3 in the Recertification from PEAC. They work behind and in support
for DEPEd’s FAPE in administering the ESC and TSS Programs from its funds and assistance to private education in the
country. Through this implementation they provide proper infrastructure, systems. and coordination that is beneficial to all
ends.

• 2022-2023, SIT received 100% BSEd passers for our LET Takers, and 75% for BEEd along with an increase of percentage in the

undergo “jungle survival” in the region. This important activity is being used for reference in educating and inspiring the
students to be more socio-civic participating youths.

students and faculty.
• From academics to sports. a champion for boxing and having a regional and a national player are just a few of the many
milestones this Institution were graciously blessed with by God.
• Our Institution is also a lifetime partner of LGU Bulan in Traffic Management. Producers of young leaders who are currently
serving as Sangguniang Kabataan from their respective Barangays with the likes of Mr. Edward Calupit from a Central Student

Father that can be found in the quadrangle of our School compound.

other professionals. SOLI DEO GLORIA
ABIDING TO FAITH
• Today, we take each day as our journey towards educating while being educated. We learn as it
goes. Thus, respect is indeed incumbent upon us with the process of growth and development as
time reveals all its hard work, weaknesses, and promises.
• These changes have also highlighted the fact that the future of learning, and the accelerated
changes in modes of delivering quality education, cannot be separated from the imperative of
leaving no one behind and as they say if there’s a will there’s a way.
• Good quality education is tantamount to a higher perspective of standard and quality of living. The
school hopes and prays to continue to carry on giving its best service for a quality education in an
affordable and reasonable tuition fees. Intelligence plus character─that is the goal of true
education, Trust Solis Institute of Technology, your SCHOOL, your HOME, and your FUTURE.
