Profile of the NGO

Nehru Yuva Kendras were established in the year 1972 with the objective of providing
•
rural youth avenues to take part in the process of nation building as well providing
opportunities for the development of their personality and skills.

In the year 1987-88, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan(NYKS) was set up as an

autonomous organization under the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs
and Sports, to oversee working of these Kendras.

Training Programmes

All of the Institute's training programs emphasize three critical components:

• Academic Competencies: Functional reading and comprehension
• Analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making are all part of the job.
• Life Skills: Understanding and coping with life's challenges, valuing education, and
working ethics are all life skills.
• Work Skills: Understanding the fundamentals of the trade, as well as extensive practical
and hands-on work experience.
• The Institute provides the following training programs that the National Council
recognizes for Vocational Training (NCVT)

RECOMMENDATIONS

• English classes should be taught properly, and mistakes should be corrected.

• Students should be given plenty of chances to speak in front of the class by teachers.
• When pupils need to understand a subject, teachers should encourage them.
• When pupils lose confidence, teachers should provide them encouragement.
