Project Overview: In this project, you will take on the role of a sustainability consultant tasked
with designing a roadmap for Indonesia's development as an advanced and sustainable country.
You will analyze the challenges faced by Indonesia and propose innovative solutions that
promote economic growth while ensuring social and environmental well-being. This project will
require critical thinking, research, and creativity to synthesize ideas and propose actionable
strategies.

Objective: To engage students in critical thinking, research, and creativity while analyzing
challenges faced by Indonesia and proposing innovative solutions that promote economic
growth, social well-being, and environmental sustainability.
Instructions:
1. Think (10 minutes): Each student will individually brainstorm and write down at least three
challenges faced by Indonesia in terms of sustainability. They should consider economic, social,
and environmental aspects.
2. Pair (10 minutes): Students will pair up with a classmate and share their ideas. They should
discuss the challenges they identified, compare and contrast their lists, and identify any
common themes or patterns.
3. Share (20 minutes): Each pair will present their findings to the class. They should explain the
challenges they identified and the reasoning behind their choices. Encourage students to
support their ideas with evidence and examples.
4. Group Discussion (15 minutes): After all pairs have presented, facilitate a class discussion to
explore the challenges in more depth. Encourage students to ask questions, seek clarification,
and challenge each other's ideas respectfully.
5. Research (15 minutes): In small groups, students will choose one challenge identified during
the discussion. Each group will conduct research to understand the causes and impacts of the
chosen challenge on Indonesia's sustainability. They should also explore existing initiatives or
solutions that have been implemented to address the challenge.
6. Proposal (20 minutes): Using their research findings, each group will develop an innovative
solution to address the chosen challenge. The solution should consider economic growth, social
well-being, and environmental sustainability. Students should outline the steps involved in
implementing their solution and explain how it can be effective.
7. Group Presentation (15 minutes): Each group will present their innovative solution to the
class. They should explain the challenge they addressed, their proposed solution, and the
expected outcomes. Encourage students to use visual aids or multimedia presentations to
enhance their presentations.
8. Reflection (10 minutes): After all presentations, students will individually reflect on the activity.
They should answer questions like: What did I learn from this activity? How did my perspective
change? What challenges did I encounter during the research and proposal development?
Note: Monitor the discussions and encourage respectful dialogue. Emphasize the importance of
considering different perspectives and finding a balance between economic growth, social
well-being, and environmental sustainability in their proposed solutions.
