and nurtures peace and security in our marriages. Sex
is a way to romance one another, play together, or
share a quiet moment. Far beyond physical
connection, lovemaking creates and maintains a bond
for husbands and wives that is soul-deep.

• Revealing private feelings and thoughts.
• Giving warm touches or hugs; or sharing physical intimacy.

We express ourselves sexually during our entire lives through:

• Abstinence. (Abstinence means choosing not to have sexual intercourse.
Abstinence can mean either choosing not to have or delaying sexual acts for a
certain period of time.)
• Our communication skills.
• Masturbation.
• Outercourse (intimacy without intercourse, ex. Holding hands, hugging, kissing.
Etc.)
HIV/AIDS and Other Sexual Transmitted Diseases
HIV(human immunodeficiency virus)is a sexually transmitted
infection, but it can progress to a disease called
acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) when HIV infection is
untreated with HIV medicines, they have it for life. But with proper
medical care, HIV can be controlled.

STD stands for sexually transmitted disease, also called sexually

transmitted infections (STIs). STDs are infections that spread from
person to person through sexual activity, including anal, vaginal, or
oral sex. STDs are caused by bacteria, parasites, and viruses.
(HIV IS ALSO A TYPE OF STD)
HIV/AIDS and Other Sexual Transmitted Diseases

• STD is the short form of Sexually Transmitted Diseases. This

means that STDs are infections or diseases that are transferred
through sex. They can be transmitted from one person to
another through vaginal, anal, or oral sex. Bacteria, viruses, or
fungicides can cause them.
• So, while HIV is a virus that weakens the body immunity
systems and AIDS is the condition that comes as a result of the
weakened body immunity system,
• STDs are sexually transmitted diseases that are caused by a
virus, a fungicide, or bacteria- often through sexual intercourse.
Behaviors that put people at risk for HIV also
increase their risk for other STDs. These
behaviors include the following:

• Having sex without a condom.

• Having sex with many partners, especially
anonymous partners.
• Having sex while using drugs or alcohol. Using
drugs and alcohol can affect a person's
judgment, which can lead to risky behaviors.
