Solution for solving the luminiares that do not light up

Complain Problem : Customer said the luminaires do not light up even 1

time since it has installed on the lighting pole

Answer:
1. First of all, put in the switch of solar luminaires since it installed on the lighting pole,and make sure
the solar panel need to be face the sun directly, avoid being blocked by shade from houses or leaves;
If the locationis on north sphere, the panel should be facing south.

2. If turn on the switch in the daytime, and lumiaire will light up in the night time automatcially after
one day charging. While if turn on the switch in the night time, the light won’t light up at once on the
situation of the battery lack of the electricity, but will light up in the next night after the next whole
day charging.

3. If the luminaires still can not light up, please take off the luminaires from the lighting pole and check
as per the following procedure:
Essential Circuit Diagram for Solar luminaires
Procedure for troubleshooting
Please check the LED chip, battery, solar panel, controller one by one through multimeter
Troubleshoot Tools -Multimeter
1. LED Chips checking

Palcing the solar panel on the ground and reverse it to cover, after the solar street light’s switch is turned on,
testing the positive and negative electrodes that signed + - of LED chips plate (as shown below) by the ones
of multimeter, while the battery and controller are normal, if no any voltage display on the multimeter,
and then could judge the LED chips are on the fritz.

electrodes of the LED chips plate
2. Battery Checking

After the switch is turned on, placing the solar panel of the solar lamp is exposed to the sun
for several hours, and the output voltage of positive and negative of the battery is about 12v
by multimeter to detect, then the battery is normal (if the battery voltage is showed 12.8V in
the quotation sheet); If the voltage is much lower than showed in the quotation sheet, the
battery or controller is judged on the fritz.

Under the situation of solar panel is normal,

while the voltage of battery is very lower and showed 3.1V
Normal that detected by multimeter.
If so, the battery or controller could juded on the fritz.
3. Solar Panel Checking

Make sure that the solar panel is not broken, placing the solar panel of the solar lamp under and
exposed to the sun. If the detected voltage is far lower than the ones marked by our company,
please open the junction box, check whether the diode inside if it is short circuit, and then see
whether the positive and negative electrodes are connected to the reverse (generally, the life of the
solar panel is more than 20 years, and it will not be easily damaged.)
If the voltage showed in multimeter is normal, and then proceed with next step.

21.4V is normal voltage

4. Controller Checking
The controller of our company usually has a wiring sign. Please put the solar panel face up to the sun in the daytime,
and connect the multimeter to the position that sign solar panel logo and ”+ -” of the first group on the controller to
see if there is a voltage. If there is no voltage, it means that the charging part of the controller circuit is faulty;

Then please shade the solar panel, and connect the positive and negative electrodes (sign “+ -” position) of the
battery on the controller with the ones of the multimeter. If there is no voltage, the controller fails to buck the voltage
to charge the battery, and the controller or battery is faulty;

Similarly, placing the lamp and the solar panel are exposed to the sun for a period of time, covering the solar panel,
can be connected to the LED chip output postition that sign “+ -” on the controller, determine whether the controller
commands the battery to discharge the LED chips normally. If the LED chips can not light up, then the controller is on
the fritz.
