History
After Cambodia gained independence from France, it
ushered in what historians considered to be a golden age
after a long downtrodden history of being in decline,
known as sangkum reas niyum.

Despite the golden age, Cambodia was still negatively
affected by the conflicting residues of the Cold War,
causing the country to experience a brutal genocide, that
lasted from 1975-1979, also known as The Khmer Rouge
Era.

Cambodia was once a small, impoverished, and damaged nation that left in
devastating ruins from the Khmer Rouge but it had managed to rise from
the quagmire and develop itself into the beautiful magnificence that we see
today. From culture to education, Cambodia is slowly building a steady
foundation towards steady development. Many come to visit the country to
