Be Careful What You Wish
For
At the beginning of the novel,
Dorothy wished to run away from her
home but when she got whisked away
to the Magical Land of Oz, she
wanted to go back to her home in
Kansas. This shows the danger of the
things we wish for and encourages us
to be careful of what we wish for.
Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin
Woodman, Toto the dog, and
Cowardly Lion would not have
been able to defeat The Wicked
Witch of the West. Their
friendship shows us that
solving problems with friends
is easier than doing it alone.

The Power of Friendship

Self-Sufficiency
The Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, and Cowardly
Lion all seek external magic to give them
qualities they already possess but fail to
recognize.
In Conclusion
Though the Wizard of Oz is the first
book in the Oz book series it is
created the foundation for the success
of the other books in the seriess
