POLITEISMO
POLITEISMO BY MILDEO CRUZ

(a) It is the point of the work of art to be appealing or to be thought-

provoking?
The point of the work of art is thought-provoking. In our own
perspective, Mildeo’s Politeismo was hitting something that concerns
our beliefs and way of life. Through this artwork, Mildeo exposed
what is the reality in social and political society and religion.

(b) Does the artist have an ethical obligation to the sensibilities of his audience?
Yes. For us, the artist have an ethical obligation to his audience. It’s because
it can affect the audience’s mind set. Some of them will misinterpret the
meaning of the artwork. Some will not take it seriously. And, it may backfire to
the artist itself. Although, his purpose is to expose the reality, to showcase his
talent and being honest to his artwork. It is possible that audience will react and
criticize his work.
POLITEISMO BY MILDEO CRUZ

(c) Are there−or should these be ethical restrictions to freedom of

expression?
For us, there are ethical restrictions. Such as, respecting
culture and beliefs of others and their point of view. Before doing
something, you must also think other people if there is
possibilities of disrespecting their culture and beliefs.
UNITED NATIONS, United States — Women are the primary victims of wars and conflict, yet they remain severely
underrepresented at diplomatic negotiations, officials told the United Nations Security Council on Tuesday.
On the eve of International Women's Day on March 8, Sima Bahous, executive director of UN Women, called on the
international community to do more to protect the lives, health and rights of women around the world.
"We must recall that we have neither significantly changed the composition of peace tables, nor the impunity enjoyed by
those who commit atrocities against women and girls," Bahous told a UN Security Council debate on women, peace and
security.
Bahous called out what she said was a "gender apartheid" in Afghanistan, where women have effectively been squeezed out
of public life since the Taliban swept back into power in August 2021, banning women from attending universities, going to
parks and removing them from many jobs.
"Afghanistan is one of the most extreme example  of regression in women's rights, but it is far from being the only
one," Bahous said.
French official Marlene Schiappa, who formerly served as her country’s equality minister, said women
pay the highest price in wars and crises.

“In all conflict and crisis situations, and, to take current examples, in Ukraine, Yemen and Somalia,
women are particularly affected, even deliberately targeted, by sexual and gender-based violence,”
Schiappa said. “Those responsible must answer for their actions.”
REASONING

What makes this a matter of ethics?

Sima Bahous opens up the concern in women when it comes to
council hearing. Women are always the first victim to suffer in any
violence. Yet, last to be heard. Her action is ethical because her
intention is pure and it’s for the sake of women. She wanted to
raise the flags of all women and change what council are used to.
REASONING

What is your own ethical judgment on this case?

They should stop biasing in council hearing. Whoever needs
support/help that is in critical situation should be the first one to
be heard. Whether it is a man or a woman. Not all the time, the
favor is in men only or women only. They should apply equality.
Their priority concern should be always on the both side.
REASONING

What are your reasons for this judgment?

We just criticize the consequences and situations if
they prioritize one gender only. So, if they’re dealing
with this matter, they must be fair to everyone.
