INTRODUCTION
 This technique was first introduced in Philadelphia Pennsylvania (USA) 1799 for the
aim of moving a building.
 In India house lifting technique was first done by Late ‘Athma Ram Sisodia’ in 1973.
 During heavy rain flooding poses huge problem to houses. Rebuilding is not the best
option as it involves huge amount of time and money.
 Lifting of building is the best option and done with the help of jacks.
 The building is separated from its foundation ,lifted with the jacks, and placed on new
or extended foundation

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT WORK
1. When the house is below the road level , it can be easily lifted and
shifted without any damage and raising their level in one go with the
help of jacks.
2. By house lifting technology building is protected against all forms of
natural disaster

METHODOLOGY
• Firstly take all the useful information about the building.
• Study the weak members and members of the building which
requires the support before lift.
• Then load calculation of the building is done to have a knowledge
of how much jacks are used to lift.
• Generally, 3 jacks required per m2 for a normal building(for G+3
floor building).
• Before elevating , disconnect the supplies of the building like
electricity, gas connection, drainage connection etc. to avoid the
interruption in the work and for the safety of the people working.

• At first the excavation is done near walls for the application of the
jacks ,the jacks are applied below the ground beam or supports of steel
beam.
• The jacks are applied in the space excavation and the jacks are applied
and housing is lifted by jacking the jacks simultaneously .

ADVANTAGES
 House lifting technology are cheap and effective and saved lakhs
of rupees and valuable time.
 When your house is below the road level , it can be easily lifted
and shifted without any damage and raising their level in one go
with the help of jack.
 By house lifting technology ,Building is protected against all
forms of natural disaster.
 Indirectly saves the construction material that helps in natural
resource of environment.
 Remain at your current facility . No need for relocation.
 New construction of any building is time consuming, so it is
used to faster work.

DISADVANTAGES
 Somewhat risky in earthquake areas.
 Applicable only for G+4 floor building.
 Not applicable for high raised building.
 Force due to wind and seismic hazards must be considered.
 Special measures should be taken if structure subjected subjected
to high velocity water flow.

CONCLUSION
  When your house is below the road level, it can be easily lifted
and shifted without any damage and raising their level in one go
with the help of Jack.
 House Lifting Technologies are cheap and effective and saved
lakhs of rupees and valuable time.
 We would have to manage all equipment operating systems
successfully to complete the process of lifting house.
 The house lifting task is completed by a team of certified
professionals who know how to use the equipment and those that
have experience in handling such a project.
