PRESENTATION
EDUCATION AND LEARNING PRESENTATION
THE ECOLOGICAL
SYSTEMS PERSPECTIVE IS
ECOLOGICAL A WAY OF THINKING OF
SYSTEM ISSUES. IT IS NOT USED
PERSPECTIVE AS A ‘THEORY’ OR A
‘MODEL’ OF PRACTICE IN
THIS PROGRAM.
Five Layers of Ecological
Theory
MICROSYSTEM

The microsystem encompasses the relationships and

interactions a child has with her immediate
surroundings.
Structures in the microsystem include family, school,
neighbourhood, or childcare environments.
MESOYSTEM

Bronfenbrenner's mesosystem is defined as the

relationships between influential actors in a child's
life.
Mesosystems include parent-teacher
relationships, parent-church relationships, and
sibling-parent relationships
EXOSYSTEM

The Exosystem is a system of

Bronfenbrenner’s ecological systems theory
that encompasses factors that influence
children’s development, even though
children may not be directly involved with
these interactions.
MACROSYSTEM

-LARGEST SYSTEM
-It is defined as the values, traditions, and
ociocultural characteristics of the broad cultural
components that influence a developing child’s
identity, values, and perceptions.
CHRONOSYSTE
M
This system consists of all of the experiences
that a person has had during his or her
lifetime, including environmental events,
major life transitions, and historical events.
RELATION
BETWEEN
INDIVIDUAL AND
SOCIETY
THE RELATION BETWEEN INDIVIDUAL AND
SOCIETY IS VERY CLOSE. ESSENTIALLY,
“SOCIETY” IS THE REGULARITIES, CUSTOMS
AND GROUND RULES OF ANTIHUMAN
BEHAVIOUR. THESE PRACTICES ARE
TREMENDOUSLY IMPORTANT TO KNOW HOW
HUMANS ACT AND INTERACT WITH EACH
OTHER.
SOCIETY HAS BECOME AN ESSENTIAL
CONDITION FOR HUMAN LIFE TO
ARISE AND TO CONTINUE. THE
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INDIVIDUAL
AND SOCIETY IS ULTIMATELY ONE OF
THE PROFOUND OF ALL THE
PROBLEMS OF SOCIAL PHILOSOPHY.
IT IS MORE PHILOSOPHICAL RATHER THAN
SOCIOLOGICAL BECAUSE IT INVOLVES THE
QUESTION OF VALUES. MAN DEPENDS ON
SOCIETY. IT IS IN THE SOCIETY THAT AN
INDIVIDUAL IS SURROUNDED AND
ENCOMPASSED BY CULTURE, AS A SOCIETAL
FORCE.
THE ROLE OF
FAMILY IN
PERSON’S
GROWTH AND
DEVELOPMENT
FAMILY PLAYS A VITAL ROLE IN
EVERYONE’S LIFE. THE ENVIRONMENT
AND EMOTIONAL CONNECTION WITH
FAMILY AFFECT THE PERSON’S
BEHAVIOUR AND PERSONALITY. FAMILY
IS ONE OF NATURE’S MASTERPIECES.
A FAMILY WHO SHARES A GOOD BOND HAS AN
EMOTIONAL CONNECTION; CAN TEACH THE
CHILD THE IMPORTANCE OF SYMPATHY,
COMPASSION, AND TOGETHERNESS.
As we grow, the family becomes our financial
and emotional support. A supportive and
understanding family will allow the person to
be successful and happy in life.
FAMILY PLAYS A SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN
ONE’S LIFE; IT SHAPES A PERSON’S
CHARACTERISTICS, VALUES, PHYSICAL
AND MENTAL HEALTH. HAVING A HAPPY
FAMILY IS ONE OF LIFE’S MOST
SIGNIFICANT REWARDS. “FAMILY IS NOT
AN IMPORTANT THING; IT’S EVERYTHING.”
Effects of Societal Pressure on
Career Choices
Society plays an essential role in
the formation of an individual's
identity, attitudes, and beliefs. This
societal influence and the need for
social acceptance are most
significant during adolescence.
EFFECTS OF SOCIETAL PRESSURE ON
CAREER CHOICES
1. INABILITY TO COPE WITH
ACADEMICS

An individual who ends up making

the wrong career choice, under the
influence of society, finds it
challenging to cope with the course’s
academic requirements.
2 .SELF ESTEEM LOSS

The individual’s ability to cope

with both parents’ and society’s
expectations is likely to result
in a loss of self-esteem and
confidence.
3. INABILITY TO DEMONSTRATE COMPETENCE
AT WORK
Even if an individual achieves sufficient
academic success to land a position in the
desired career field eventually, there is a good
chance that the individual’s academic
shortcomings will manifest at the workplace
because the essential match between
aptitudes and the desired career is missing.
4. DISSATISFACTION WITH JOB AND CAREER
What keeps an individual motivated to go back
to work is that they enjoy what they do.

But if one’s personality and interests don’t

match with the requirements of the career,
then in trying to deal with the daily duties of
their job, they are likely to feel emotionally and
physically exhausted every day.
“EXPLORING SELF, FAMILY AND
COMMUNITY”
“[Self-exploration] helps people
understand and accept who
they are and why they do what
they do, which improves self-
esteem, communication, and
relationships,” Howe’s explains.
Family exploring It gives you a sense of
identity. Also, discovering more about your
ancestors, celebrating family traditions,
embracing your culture, and understanding
where you came from can open your eyes
to how beautiful and unique you are. It can
also give your sense of self-worth and
belonging a boost.
Community exploration was focused on us
specially when we participate in our
community, we contribute to its future and
enrich the lives of others. Community
Exploration is built on that universal need.
Either one-on-one or in a small group, we
couple community-based activities with
other supports to help each person achieve
their dreams.
FACTORS THAT IMPACT
OF SELF-INFORMATION
1. STANDARD OF ETHICS?

Ethical standards refer to the principles

that promote trust, good behavior,
fairness and governing the conduct of a
person. There are many occasions your
personal ethics will play a role in your
behavior in professional settings.
2. Goals, Priorities, and Values

Organize your goals by priority and value.

When you have clarity of your goals, priorities
and value, you evaluate how you spend your
time. You can also use this information to help
you identify your higher value activities and
your most valuable tasks.
To avoid analysis paralysis and getting stuck,
simply zero in on your highest priority at the
moment. Where most people lose in time
management is they don’t have a simple set
of goals and priorities, or they take on too
much at once, or they haven’t really thought
through the value of achieving their
outcome.
3. Aptitudes, Abilities, Interests, Motivations

APTITUDE is based career planning identifies

careers that use your natural strengths. It also
incorporates other traits such as interests,
values, and personality. This provides a realistic
and effective shortcut in focusing career
exploration.
We are responsible for our goals.
Successful careers are supported
by career service programs and
strategies that are based on
knowing your strengths and what
you enjoy doing.
Self-efficacy is a person’s belief in their ABILITY
to complete a task or achieve a goal. It
encompasses of a INEREST person’s confidence
in themselves to control their behavior, exert
an influence over their environment, and stay
MOTIVATED in the pursuit of their goal. People
can have self-efficacy in different situations and
domains, such as school, work, relationships,
and other important areas.
4. Adult roles, Responsibilities, and Life
events

Adult life involves constant changes and

some can be very hard. As you go through
life, you have a range of roles: employee,
provider, caregiver, spouse or partner,
parent, grandparent. Each of these roles
comes with different expectations.
5. Family, Career, and Community
connections

multiple demands of career, family, and
personal life.

management, goal setting, stress
