PRESENTATION TITLE

THOSE?
Suffixes are letter groups that are added to the end of a base
word or root. They frequently signify the part of the speech
and sometimes add meaning.

When added to a word they create a new word. For example


– less to hope creates hopeless, a word related to hope but
with different meaning.
SUFFIXES

Examples:
- -al / having characteristic of / final, personal
- -ful / full of / sorrowful, careful
- -ity / state of activity / infinity , responsibility
- -ive / adj. form of noun / attentive, plaintive
- -ment / action or process / enjoyment, development
- -ous / possessing the qualities of /joyous, serious
- -tion / act, process / attraction , action
- -y / characterized by / happy, funny
