• Oxygen- All living things breathe in oxygen. Oxygen is necessary for them to get energy
from food. Since living things need energy all the time for various life processes, they need
to breathe in oxygen all time. This process of breathing in and out is called respiration.
• Living thing on land breathe in oxygen present in air. The air you breathe in through your
nose goes into your lungs.
• Some animals live in water but how the water organisms live in water? They have gills or
they have moist skins to breathe in water.
• Plant breathe through their tiny hole present in their leaves called stomata.
